Report on the opening day greeting for the anime "Space Battleship Yamato 2202: Warriors of Love," with Daisuke Ono and other cast members on stage!

The official report from the opening day stage greeting of "Chapter 1: The Pioneer Arc" from the anime "Space Battleship Yamato 2202: Warriors of Love" has arrived.

Space Battleship Yamato 2202: Warriors of Love" is a sequel to "Space Battleship Yamato 2199," a remake of the classic "Space Battleship Yamato" that became a hot topic. As the title suggests, the film is inspired by the 1978 animated film "Farewell Space Battleship Yamato: Warriors of Love." Three years after Yamato completes its voyage to Iskandar, the film depicts the threat of the battle nation of Gatlantis and the new voyage of the crew of the Yamato to confront it. The executive producer is Shoji Nishizaki, the director is Nobuyoshi Habara of "Blue Sky: Fafner," the assistant director is Makoto Kobayashi of "Space Battleship Yamato: Resurrection," and the series composition and screenplay are by Harutoshi Fukui of "Mobile Suit Gundam UC. The first chapter will be screened at 15 theaters nationwide, including Shinjuku Piccadilly, for a limited two-week period starting February 25, 2017.

On February 25, "Chapter 1: The Pioneering Arc" opened at Shinjuku Piccadilly Screen 1 with Daisuke Ono playing Susumu Ancient, Noriko Kuwashima playing Moriyuki, Kenichi Suzumura playing Daisuke Shima, director Nobuyoshi Habara, and series director Harutoshi Fukui on stage. They discussed their joy on the first day of the film's release.

（After the long journey of "Space Battleship Yamato 2199" (the previous series), I am genuinely happy to be back on this ship. When I heard that we were going to do "Space Battleship Yamato 2202," I was a bit apprehensive, but once I stepped into the recording studio, it was like being in a real Yamato environment. I came back to Yamato! Yamato is here! I felt like "Yamato is here! It will be a long journey again! Not only will there be fun and joy, but there will also be difficulties and anxiety, but I hope that this cast and crew will be able to overcome these challenges together. Let's all travel together until the end!

（The journey of "Space Battleship Yamato 2199" (the previous series) was really tough, so I was skeptical when I heard that it was going to start again, but after the production announcement, the recording session started, and all the crew members came together, I was elated and challenged the recording session. And now that it is finally completed and everyone has gathered here today, I feel once again the presence of "Space Battleship Yamato 2202". I look forward to surviving the voyage to the end and seeing you all again in the final chapter.

I know that some of you may be worried about the fact that this is a remake of the very popular movie "Farewell Space Battleship Yamato: Warriors of Love", but please rest assured that this is the "Yamato" that you have come to know and love! I started the postrecording from the second episode of the TV version (I was nervous because I could not participate in the postrecording from the beginning), but the other cast members immediately welcomed me, just as the characters of Yamato are willing to accept anything that is difficult or painful. The day has finally come and it has been a wonderful experience for me to be satisfied with the whole project. Seven more chapters will follow, but there is no better "first chapter" than this one, so I hope you will all raise your spirits and travel with me through all seven chapters.

I love Yamato so much that I would not be here if it were not for Space Battleship Yamato! Just like Ancient times when Captain Okita told Ancient times, "Get on the Yamato! I was told to "direct Yamato" just as Ancient was told by Captain Okita to "get on the Yamato! I finally made it to this point! The staff has been working on this project with a lot of bloodlust. For us, the happiest thing is that our customers are happy. We hope you will enjoy it until the end of the seventh chapter.

On a personal note, I was previously in charge of another universe story, Mobile Suit Gundam UC (Unicorn), a content loved by everyone, and there were many things I took care of. This time, the staff is much louder than in the previous work (laughs). The staff's thoughts are strong and the accumulation is amazing! We worked on the series structure while accepting this and thinking about the meaning of doing Space Battleship Yamato in the modern era!　It's going to be a long seven chapters, but I'll make sure I don't run out of breath until the end, so please stay with me until the end!
