High-end 3.5-inch HDD "BarraCuda Pro" now available in a power-saving model with 8TB capacity

Seagate is now offering the ST8000DM0004, a high-end 3.5-inch HDD with power-saving specifications.




The ST8000DM0004 is a 3.5-inch HDD belonging to the BarraCuda Pro series, a high-end HDD for creative and professional desktop applications and games.

It is a power-saving model of the 8TB model "ST8000DM005" released last year, featuring power consumption reduced from 9.0W to 6.8W during operation and from 7.2W to 4.5W during idle.

Other than power consumption, the ST8000DM005 shares the same specifications as the ST8000DM005: SATA 6Gbps interface, 7,200 rpm rotation speed, 256 MB cache, and a maximum data transfer rate of 220 MB/s.
