Animation film "Dawn Tells Rue's Song" special trailer is now available on the web! Advance tickets go on sale April 7!

A special trailer from the anime film "Dawn Tells Lou's Song," which will be released in theaters on May 19, 2017, has been released.


Dawn Tells Lou's Song" is the first completely original theatrical animation directed by Masaaki Yuasa, who has created many popular works such as "Shijohan Shinwa Taikei" and "Ping Pong: The Animation". Set in the desolate fishing port town of Himashi, the film depicts the story of Kai, a boy with depressed feelings toward his divorced parents, and Roo, a mermaid girl, with the fast-paced and dynamic animation typical of Yuasa. The original character design is by manga artist Nemu Yoko, and the screenplay is by "K-ON! Girls und Panzer" and music by Takatsugu Muramatsu of "Mary and the Witch's Flower.

The film, which is also attracting attention for the voice of Gen Hoshino, who is active in a variety of fields including TV dramas, has just released a special web trailer. The video shows the vivid and colorful images and smooth camerawork typical of director Yuasa.


Information on advance tickets was also announced. Advance tickets will go on sale on April 7 (Fri.), the release date of "The Night is Short and the Walking Girl," also directed by Yuasa. A "sticky note to convey your feelings" based on the image of the mermaid girl Rue will be included as a bonus, so don't miss out on this one as well. The price is 1,400 yen (tax included).
