Western Digital's first NVMe SSD, the WD Black PCIe SSD series, is now available

Western Digital's first consumer NVMe SSD, the WD Black PCIe SSD series, is now available.

The lineup includes two models: the WDS256G1X0C, a 256GB capacity model, and the WDS512G1X0C, a 512GB capacity model.




The WDS256G1X0C and WDS512G1X0C are M.2 2280 SSDs with PCI Express3.0 x4 connectivity andfeature asequential read speed of2,050MB/sec, more than three times faster than conventional SATA3.0 SSDs.

The WDS256G1X0C features sequential transfer rates of up to 2,050MB/sec read, 700MB/sec write, 170,000 IOPS random 4KB read, 130,000 IOPS write, and an MTTF of 1.75 million hours.

The WDS512G1X0C has the following specifications: sequential read: up to 2,050MB/s, write: up to 800MB/s, random 4KB read: 170,000 IOPS, write: 134,000 IOPS, MTTF: 1.75 million hours.
