The TV anime "Overlord," which aired from July 2015, is based on the popular fantasy novel by Kugane Maruyama (illustrated by so-bin, KADOKAWA), which has sold over 3 million copies in total. It is a dark fantasy work set in "Yggdrasil," an interactive online game that was to have ended its service, and depicts a lonely, dull young man who loves games in the real world as a powerful wizard in the form of a skeleton who leads his own guild.
