Production of the anime film "Cloudy with a Laugh <Gaiden>" has been decided!　Animation production by WIT STUDIO of "Shinkage" and "Kabaneri

An anime adaptation of the popular manga "Cloudy Weather Laughs Outside" has been decided.

Cloudy Weather Laughs <Sotoden>" is a manga by Karanoke that is serialized in the monthly comic magazine Comic Garden (MagGarden). This work is a prequel and postquel to "Cloudy with a Laugh," which was adapted into an anime from October to December 2014, and depicts the past and future of three brothers who serve as a bridge to a prison built on Lake Biwa.
The animation is produced by WIT STUDIO, which has released a series of high-quality works such as "Shinketsu no Kyojin," "Kabaneri of the Iron Castle," and "Mahoutsukai no Yome" and is scheduled for theatrical release in winter 2017.

In conjunction with this announcement, we have received comments and illustrations from the original author, Mr. Karasumo.

Once again, the world of "Cloudy with a Laugh" will be moving. I am just so happy.
I have talked with the director and the scriptwriter so that both those who have seen the TV series and those who have not will enjoy the story. I don't know how it will work yet, but some of the episodes have been expanded, and it is already becoming more interesting.
I hope that the audience will be able to spend the same time with the characters who have been brought to life once again through animation.
