Broadcast schedule and staff information for the TV anime "Whale Children Singing on the Sand" have been announced.

Whale Children Sing on the Sand" is a manga serialized in "Monthly Mystery Bonita" (Akita Shoten) by Abi Umeda. Set in a world where sand covers everything, this fantasy work delicately depicts a group of boys and girls, including Chakuro, a boy recorder who lives on a giant drifting ship called "Mud Whale," which drifts on the sea. The anime adaptation was announced in January 2017.

In a world covered in a sea of sand, there were people living on a drifting ship called "Mud Whale," which looked like a small island. The population of this island, which has no contact with the outside world, is 513. The island is made up of two races: the Shilsi, who have the psychic power "Simia," which is based on emotions, but have a short life span, and the Muin, who do not have the power but have a long life span, and they form a small community and live peacefully together.
One day, Chakuro, the island's "seal," is investigating an abandoned ship that has drifted ashore on the "Mud Whale" when he meets a mysterious girl named "Lycos. This is the first contact with the outside world for the islanders. Is this the gospel that opens a new world?

Chakuro is a young boy who lives in "Mud Whale. He is a hypergrapher who obsessively writes down daily events, and uses this characteristic to serve as the island's record keeper. Although he is a mark, he is not good at manipulating cymia.
