Production of "Psalms of Planets Eureka seveN High Evolution" announced!
It was announced that the anime "Psalms of Planets Eureka seveN" will be revived as a theatrical anime trilogy.
Psalms of Planets Eureka seveN" is a TV animation that ran for a year from April 2005 to April 2006. Based on a science fiction worldview, the work is a fusion of various elements such as giant mobile robots with a surfing motif, techno music, etc. After the TV series ended, an anime movie "Psalms of Planets Eureka seveN: Pockets Full of Rainbows" was released in 2009, and a sequel "Eureka seveN AO" was broadcast on TV in 2012. In addition to the anime, the series has been developed in a variety of media, including comics, games, and pachislot machines.
After 12 years, this work, whose popularity has not diminished, will be revived as a trilogy in the theatrical anime "Psalms of Planets Eureka seveN High Evolution".
The film version, like the TV series, focuses on the story of the hero Renton and the heroine Eureka, starting from the "First Summer of Love," a major incident that shook the world 10 years ago, which was mentioned several times in the TV series but never depicted head-on. The film is also composed of new footage and reshot new footage, with all lines of dialogue reconstructed. The story is also said to be moving toward a new ending that no one knows.
The original staff of Tomoki Kyoda (general director), Dai Sato (screenwriter), and Kenichi Yoshida (character designer) have come together for the first time in 12 years, and the German techno unit "Hardfloor" has contributed a new song, "Acperience 7," to the film. The word "Acperience" has often been used as a subtitle in the series, but this word was originally coined as the name of a song by "Hardfloor. This time, the collaboration was fully realized. A sample of the song can be heard in the trailer.
The staff of "Hardfloor" has also commented on the song, so let's take a look at them.
Comments】 (*Titles omitted)
Tomoki Kyoda (general director)
While making this work, I often thought, "This work is really loved.
In order to respond to that, I have eliminated as many lies as possible, and I hope to deliver something that will be loved by everyone again.
Dai Sato (scriptwriter)
For us, "Eureka seveN" is not a work that makes us nostalgic.
That is why I want to create a new "Eureka seveN" that will not betray those who were influenced by the old "Eureka seveN" and that will be fresh for today's audience.
Kenichi Yoshida (Character Designer)
When I was designing the TV series "Psalms of Planets Eureka seveN," I was designing with the intention of challenging the world. I had a plan to broaden the range of the animation character's designs.
This time, after 10 years, I think it will be meaningful to send the patterns I created for "Eureka seveN" out into the world again.
Hardfloor (insert song)
We have been asked many times in interviews to give a message to our audience, but we have avoided commenting on our music and have not composed music with a deep message.
We let the music speak for itself, and we hope that listeners will feel free to take away impressions, stories, images, and meanings from our music.
In creating "Acperience 7," we focused solely on producing a track that was distinctively Hardfloor.
We didn't want to produce a track that didn't sound like Hardfloor to fit the film, but rather to sound like Hardfloor, which is what Director Kyoda wanted us to do.
