The X-RUN series of drive recorders, which support high-definition recording, is now available from ArcSight.

The lineup consists of two models: the XR-DRM7, which supports WQHD (2,560 x 1,440 pixels) recording, and the XR-DRM6, which supports Full HD (1,920 x 1,080 pixels).

The XR-DRM7 and XR-DRM6 drive recorders belong to the "X-RUN" brand for Japan, which was jointly established by INSTANT TECHNOLOGY, an electronics manufacturer with a very high share of the Taiwanese drive recorder market, and Archesight.

The XR-DRM7 is a high-end model that supports WQHD (2,560 x 1,440 pixels)/30fps and Full HD (1,920 x 1080 pixels)/60fps recording. HDR+WDR functionality reduces "blown-out" and "blacked-out" images even in tunnel and backlit conditions.

Other features include "LED signal countermeasure," which corrects images shot at 7.5fps/57fps to standard 30fps/60fps, "radio noise countermeasure," which reduces radio noise so that it does not affect terrestrial digital broadcasting and car navigation systems, "constant recording," which starts recording when the engine is turned on, and a "shock detection" function, which records images in an overwrite-protected folder when a shock is detected. It also has a "shock (G) sensor" that moves recorded images to a folder where they cannot be overwritten if an impact is detected, and a "motion sensor" that detects nearby moving objects and records them when the car is parked (engine off).

The main specifications are as follows: the main unit measures 93.8 (W) x 48.5 (H) x 29.2 (D) mm and weighs approximately 80 g. The camera sensor is a 4-megapixel CMOS sensor. Video resolutions and frame rates are 2,880 x 2,160 dots/24 fps, 2,560 x 1,440 dots/30 fps (27.5 fps corrected), 2,304 x 1,296 dots/30 fps (27.5 fps corrected), 1,920 x 1,080 dots/60 fps (57 fps 1,920 x 1,080 dots/30fps (compensated for 57fps), 1,920 x 1,080 dots/30fps (compensated for 27.5fps). The video file format is H.264 / MP4, the angle of view is 138° diagonal (118° horizontal, 64° vertical), and the recording media is a microSD card (8 to 32GB Class 10 or higher recommended). Included in the package are a cigar socket power adapter (cable length: approx. 3.5 m), a fixing bracket (tape type), and a microSDHC card (8 GB high quality MLC).

The XR-DRM6 is a basic model that supports Full HD (1,920 x 1,080 pixels)/30fps and HD (1,280 x 720 pixels)/60fps recording, with a 2.4-inch color LCD, a wide-angle 136° lens with an F value of 1.8, and a WDR (WDR) that reduces "white-out" and "black-out" even in tunnels or backlit areas. It is also equipped with features common to the XR-DRM7, such as LED signal countermeasures, radio noise countermeasures, constant recording, a shock (G) sensor, and a motion sensor.

The main specifications are as follows: the main unit measures 62.0 x (W) x 67.5 (H) x 27.0 (D) mm and weighs approximately 80 g. The camera sensor is a 3-megapixel CMOS sensor. Video resolution and frame rate are 1,920 x 1,080 dots/30 fps (compensated for 27.5 fps), 1,280 x 7,20 dots/60 fps (compensated for 57 fps), and 1,280 x 720 dots/30 fps (compensated for 27.5 fps). Video file format is H.264 / MOV; angle of view is 136° diagonal (111° horizontal, 57° vertical); recording media is microSD card (8 to 32GB Class 10 or higher recommended). Included in the package are a cigar socket power adapter (cable length: approx. 3.5 m), a fixing bracket (tape type), and a microSDHC card (8 GB high quality MLC).
