⇒In January 2017, it was announced that this work would be revived as a theatrical animation! The official website has opened and image graphics have been released.

The visual released this time depicts Mazinger Z quietly floating in the darkness with the catch copy "It can be a god or a demon...", the words of Jyuzo Kabuto, the creator of Mazinger Z. The light shining through the open hatch above his head suggests that this is an image of Mazinger Z before his departure for battle. Although the full details of the figure have not yet been revealed, the overall appearance of the figure shows that it has been detailed up.

As previously reported, the "Mazinger Z the Movie" (tentative title) Launch Commemorative Event will be held on March 26 (Sun.), 2017, at the BLUE Stage in Anime Japan 2017 to be held at Tokyo Big Sight. It will be interesting to see what kind of new information will be revealed at this event.
