AnimeJapan2017】Report from the Animelo Summer Live 2017 press conference, a festival of anime songs!　Idolmaster SideM, Misato Chihara and others took the stage!

Animelo Summer Live 2017 ("Anisama 2017"), Japan's largest anime song live event, will be held over three days on August 25, 26, and 27, 2017. A press conference for this major event, now in its 13th year, was held on March 25 at the AnimeJapan 2017 Open Stage. Here is a report on the light-hearted talk by the host, Mr. Ken Washizaki.

The first announcement was the main theme of the event, "THE CARD. General producer Koji Saito explained that the theme was based on the idea that the Anisama stage itself was a "card game," and that the nonstop performances and artists' competitions were likened to a series of cards being played out one after the other. The stage of Anisama is like a "card game". The stage of Anisama is a place where the flow of events and the combination of artists that can only happen there are realized. The theme of the event is the real thrill that only a live performance can bring.

The first announcement of the artists for August 25 was shown on the screen: Aqours, OxT, GRANRODEO, Konomi Suzuki, Yukari Tamura, Minori Chihara, TRUE, Pyxis, Machico, and Minami. On August 26, THE iDOLM@STER MILLION STARS, i☆Ris, Shota Aoi, angela, Sphere, Ai Nakajima, fhana, fripSide, and Suzuko Mimori will perform. And on August 27, Idolmaster SideM, Yui Ogura, SCREEN mode, TrySail, Luna Haruna, Nana Mizuki, Inori Minase, Milky Holmes, and LiSA. This year in particular, big-name artists such as Yukari Tamura, Minori Chihara, Ai Nakajima, and Nana Mizuki were returning to Anisama, and the audience erupted in cheers as each name was announced.

Next on stage were OxT, Konomi Suzuki, Minori Chihara, TRUE, Pyxis, Machico, Suzuko Mimori, Sogo Nakamura, Yuma Uchida, and Taku Yashiro from DRAMATIC STARS, a unit within THE iDOLM@STER SIDEM. The audience was filled with the most enthusiastic cheers of the day.

At this point, P. Saitan appeared on stage again, and the theme song for Anisama 2017, "Playing the World," was unveiled for the first time. It was also announced that the song was written and composed by ani-song singer ZAQ. Saitan P commented on the song written by ZAQ, who has experience performing at Anisama: "ZAQ knows the view that can only be seen on the dream stage of Anisama, and the fear that comes with it, and that's why he was able to create what he did. This song is like a love letter, filled with detailed Anisama love in every detail of the song and lyrics. Many of the performers sang in the song, creating the worldview of the song.

The final panelists spoke of their enthusiasm for Anisama 2017, and Ms. Chihara, who will be attending for the first time in two years since 2015, commented, "This is a festival where fans of anisong gather from all over the world, so I want to create wonderful memories together with everyone. Mimori, who has participated in the festival as a member of various units and groups since 2010 and this year will be her eighth consecutive appearance, told the audience that she was glad to have been a member of various units, which drew laughter from the audience. The audience laughed, but applauded her for performing not only as a solo artist but also as "Milky Holmes" this year. The three members of THE iDOLM@STER SIDEMASTER SideM, who were performing for the first time at this year's event, also promoted their upcoming anime work, and one of the members, Ms. Uchida, gave a passionate comment, "We will do our best with male enthusiasm! One of the members, Mr. Uchida, excited the audience with his passionate comment, "I'm going to do my best with full of male enthusiasm!

The enthusiasm of the speakers and the high expectations of the fans in the audience added to the excitement of the press conference. The press conference closed with a sense of the coming hot summer.
