Production of new "Ghost in the Shell" animation is decided! Directed by Kenji Kamiyama and Shinji Aramaki

Kodansha Ltd. and Production I.G. Ltd. have announced the production of a new animation based on the science fiction manga "Ghost in the Shell" by Masamune Shirow.

This will be the latest animation following "GHOST IN THE SHELL", "Ghost in the Shell: STAND ALONE COMPLEX" series, "Innocence", "Ghost in the Shell: ARISE" and "Ghost in the Shell: The New Movie".
The live-action Hollywood movie version of "Ghost in the Shell" will be released on April 7, 2017, and the long-awaited announcement of the new film comes amidst the growing "Ghost in the Shell" fever.

Details are still unknown, except that Kenji Kamiyama, who worked on the "Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex" series, and Shinji Aramaki, who worked on the "Appleseed" and "Appleseed Alpha" anime series based on Masamune Shirow's novel, will be directing the film. The timing of the project will be announced as soon as it is decided, so stay tuned for more information.
