The poll opened with "Little Witch Academia" and "Maidragon of Kobayashi-san's House" hotly competing for the top spot. After the interim announcement, "Little Witch Academia" regained the top position and became No. 1 by about 1,000 votes over "Maidragon of Mr. Kobayashi.

In the reviews by AniPotA, both works were highly rated by anime fans, but "Little Witch Academia" received many comments such as "I want to watch it with my family" and "It can be enjoyed by both children and adults" as a work that can be enjoyed safely by people of all ages, which may be the reason for its success. This may be the reason for the film's success.
Of course, "Kobayashi-san-chi no Maidragon" is also a work of Kyoto Animation, which has produced many popular works in the past, and was highly praised for its quality, cute characters, and story. It would have been no surprise if this film had come in at No. 1. It was a close call.
