Animated film "Fireworks Launch, Do You Watch from Below? Watch from the side?" and a tie-up with Kadokawa Bunko will start on May 1! Visuals have been unveiled!

The August 18, 2017 release of the animated film "Fireworks Launch, Do You Watch from Below? Watch from the side?" and Kadokawa Shoten have announced a tie-up.



The tie-up is with Kadokawa Shoten. Watch from the side? is a TV drama directed by Shunji Iwai that was broadcast in the 1990s. The drama, which became popular for its touching love story set in a repetitive summer day, was written by Hitoshi Oneda, who also wrote the screenplay for the films "Moteki" and "Bakuman. The animation is directed by Akiyuki Shinbo of "Puella Magi Madoka Magica" fame. The animation production is by Shaft, who has produced many masterpieces with Mr. Shinbo.

The tie-up project between the film and Kadokawa Bunko, which celebrates its 70th anniversary in 2018, will begin on May 1 (Mon.), and actress Suzu Hirose, who plays the heroine Nazuna, and actor Masaki Sugata, who plays Norimichi, the boy who has feelings for Nazuna, and the characters they play are all on display. The visual of the tie-up has been unveiled. In addition, Kadokawa Bunko will release the novel based on the movie, newly written by Hitoshi Oneda and directed by Shunji Iwai, "Boys Wanted to See Fireworks from the Side" on June 17.

A campaign will also be held to select winners of an original book card from among those who take pictures of the posters and post them on Twitter with the hashtag. Details of the campaign, as well as the location and period of the posters, will be announced on the special tie-up website (http://promo.kadokawa.co.jp/uchiagehanabi/), which is scheduled to open on May 8 (Mon.).
