Akiba Research Institute's anime portal "Anipota" is currently holding an official voting project, the "Kemoner Goyou Anime Popularity Poll," and we are pleased to announce the interim results.

Even after its broadcast, "Kemono Friends," the biggest hit of the 2017 winter cool season, has not waned at all. With its success, the popularity of "Kemono-Anime" is now exploding!　The "Kemono-Anime" popularity vote is now underway, and the voting period ends on April 26th. Although "Kemono Friends" seemed to be the clear winner, "Witchcraft Works" held on to the top spot. The "Witchcraft Works" series, however, held on to the top spot. Many "chemoner" fans seem to be drawn to this series because of its depiction of the witch Kuraishi Tanpopo, who is positioned as a rival to the main character, and who is full of love for "monster ears.

No Game No Life" and "Strike Witches " came in second and third, respectively, both of which feature characters with "kemonomimi. While the attributes of these characters may be more familiar to those in the animal genre, the top ranking was also dominated by works that boast high popularity as anime works.

Kemono Friends" came in at No. 4. With many Friends characters based on various animal motifs, it will be interesting to see if this title can break the barriers of the popular titles at the top of the list.

On the other hand, a title with a high "kemono" element, in which the animals themselves act like humans, also ranked in the top 10. Kumamiko" features a brown bear named Machi who gently watches over a young shrine maiden named Machi, while "Shirokuma Cafe" features realistic-looking animals in a human-like daily drama. Also on the list are "SHOW BY ROCK!", which switches between human and fancy animal forms. etc. are also interestingly ranked in the list.
