We've created two of the best songs! ──MICHI's growing 4th single "I4U

MICHI celebrated its 21st birthday on March 30, 2017, and released a new single. The title track, "I4U (I'm for You)," is already on air as the ending theme for the TV anime "Tsugumomo." The song was composed by Elements Garden, and its catchy melody and sound are the high road of anime songs. In addition, the coupling song "Supernatural World" by the young band phatmans after school is included. Both songs open up new possibilities for MICHI, and we look forward to her continued growth.

Celebrating her 21st birthday!

─ ─ I know it will have passed by the time this interview is published, but happy birthday! (This interview was conducted on March 28.) MICHI Thank you.

MICHI Thank you very much, I will be 21 years old on March 30.

─ ─ On April 1, you will hold an event "MICHI Nchu Festival Vol. 4 - Birthday Event MICHI Revolution 21" to celebrate your birthday with MICHI Nchu (fans), right?

MICHI Yes. Of course there will be singing, but there will also be laughter, laughter, laughter! I would like to make it an event with laughter, laughter, laughter, and of course singing.

─ ─ Even when I talk to you like this, I think you have the power to brighten people's day. I think you are getting used to giving talks, aren't you?

MICHI I still need help when MCing events (laughs), but I have been a DJ for FM FUJI's "Music Spice" for a year, so I think I have gotten used to talking a little bit.

─ ─ You have experienced a lot of live performances, and your feelings when singing in front of everyone have changed, haven't they?

MICHI I still get nervous on stage, but I have become more relaxed when I am waiting for my cue. I am now able to feel the weight of the support of the staff and the warm support of the fans, which I was so focused on singing that I could not notice at the time of my debut. I feel that my awareness as a singer is changing in a positive direction.

─ ─ What exactly do you mean by a change in consciousness?

MICHI I have started to think more about my body. If I get proper sleep, eat well, and keep myself healthy, my voice will come out comfortably. And then there is exercise. I go to a gym, and I work out by doing breathing exercises and stretches to expand my diaphragm, and by learning what kind of muscle training I need to do to increase my lung capacity.

─ So there is a way to train your body that is unique to vocalists?

MICHI That's right. I realize day by day that singers are like athletes. I have to eat a lot and move my body a lot to be able to sing, and since Elements Garden's songs are difficult, I need to have even more physical strength to sing them.

─ ─ Do you think it is important to train your body for the new single "I4U"?

MICHI That's right. I have been asked to write another cool song. I think I was able to sing and dance to "I4U" because I have been working on my physical strength.
