Animation film "Dawn Tells Lou's Song" and a teach-in event by director Yuasa will be held on May 25!

A teach-in event by director Masaaki Yuasa will be held for the anime film "Dawn Tells Lou's Song," which will be released on May 19, 2017.




The film is the first completely original theatrical animation directed by Masaaki Yuasa, who has produced many high-profile works including "Shijohan Shinwa Taikei" and "Ping Pong: The Animation". Set in the desolate fishing port town of Himashi, the film depicts the story of a boy named Kai and a mermaid named Roo, both of whom are burdened with depression over their divorced parents, in Yuasa's signature fast-moving and dynamic animation. The original character design is by Nemu Yoko, manga artist of "Lawless Zone at 3:00 a.m.," and the screenplay is by K-ON! Girls und Panzer" by Reiko Yoshida, and music by Takatsugu Muramatsu of "Mary and the Witch's Flower.

A teach-in event was held at TOHO Cinemas Nihonbashi to commemorate the release of the film. Director Masaaki Yuasa (and others to be announced) will be invited as a guest for a talk session and question-and-answer session, and a drawing will be held to select winners of a color paper autographed by the director and other goods not for sale from "Yawn Warau Ru no Uta" and "The Night is Short, Walk away Otome.
