The "Grancrest Senki" is a light novel by Ryo Mizuno, the author of "The Chronicles of Rhodes Island". Set on a continent where chaos rules everything, this military fantasy depicts a battle over the Emperor's Holy Seal (Grancrest), which is the crystal of order. The series is directed by Mamoru Hatakeyama of the "Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinju" series, with series composition by Yoshito Mizuno and Satoshi Yano, character design by Hiroshi Yamukai, and production by A-1 Pictures, which also produced "Sword Art Online the Movie: Ordinal Scale.
