Announcing the results of the "2017 Spring Anime Leading Male Voice Actor Popularity Poll"!　Who stands at the top of the top 2...... with the overwhelming number of votes?

The official voting project "2017 Spring Anime Leading Actor Popularity Poll [Male]" was held on the anime portal "Anipota" operated by Akiba Research Institute from May 9 to May 24. Here are the results of the poll, in which a total of 24,041 votes were cast.

This project attracted a large number of votes, over 24,000. The top vote-getter was Sadaaki Matsuoka, who has been leading the poll since the beginning. His ranking is understandable since he has been selected as a leading character for every season. The man who was in a dead heat with Matsuoka until the very end was the ever-popular Hiroshi Kamiya. This season, he plays Takashi Natsume in the latest installment of the popular "Natsume's Book of Friends" series, and he is a popular voice actor with a huge following among female anime fans. At one point, he was on the verge of overtaking Mr. Matsuoka, but in the end he settled for a close second place.
With the top two accounting for the majority of the votes, it would be no exaggeration to say that these two are truly representative of the current voice actor scene.

Looking at the top three and below, there are many talented voice actors who play the main characters. As in the interim report, Takahiro Sakurai ranked third, Yuichi Nakamura fourth, and Yuki Kaji fifth. This season, too, they are playing leading roles in new works in popular series and in high-profile productions, and their presence is strongly felt.
Yoshimasa Hosoya, in seventh place, is a hot name who has played important characters in a variety of works in recent years. Although his ranking reflects his momentum, he is currently taking a break from voice acting to undergo treatment for his throat. He is scheduled to return within the year, and we look forward to his resumption of activities as soon as possible.

Shoro Miura is a veteran voice actor who is playing his first leading role as Koujiro Mamichi in "Correct to the Correct Kado. After the interim report, he temporarily dropped out of the top 10, but his tenacity and threats helped him climb back up the rankings to finish in 8th place.

While veteran voice actors occupied the top positions, young voice actors in their 20s also made their presence felt.
Souma Saito, in sixth place, is one of the hottest young voice actors of the moment. He will be making his debut as an artist this year, and is expected to further expand his activities.
