Katasumi no Sekai no Katasumi ni (In a Corner of the World)" is a theatrical anime based on the manga series by Fumiyo Kono in Manga Action (Futabasha). The film depicts the lives of people who lived as they should have during the war, featuring Suzu, a girl who married at the age of 18 in Kure, Hiroshima Prefecture, in the 1940s and 1945s. Directed by Sunao Katabuchi, director of "Mai Mai Shinko and the Millennium Magic," the film spends six years meticulously researching Kure during and after the war, and examining the period in order to vividly depict the world of the original story.
