Tokyo Toy Show 2017] Yoiko Hamaguchi fainted in agony at the idol's tower bridge! Celebrating the 40th anniversary of Gashapon! Revived "KINKESHI" stage!

The Tokyo Toy Show 2017 is being held at Tokyo Big Sight from June 1 to 4, 2017.

This event, organized by the Japan Toy Association, is the largest toy exhibition in Japan, and is a big event featuring the latest toys from Japanese and international toy manufacturers. This year, June 1 (Thu.) and 2 (Fri.) are "business fair" days for business people, and the latter half of the show, June 3 (Sat.) and 4 (Sun.), is "open to the public" for general visitors.

On the first day of the Tokyo Toy Show 2017, "Celebrating 40th Anniversary of Gashapon, the Revival of 'KINKESHI' Stage" was held at the Bandai booth! The "Revival 'KINKESHI' Stage" was held at the Bandai booth on the first day of the Tokyo Toy Show 2017.

Kinkeshi" is a vinyl chloride doll based on the character from the popular manga "Kinnikuman" written by Yudetamago. The dolls were sold mainly as capsule toys and were very popular, especially among elementary school boys, and were on sale until 1987. Since then, the series has been released intermittently, including when the new series "Succession to the Throne" was broadcast and two reprinted editions.

And this year, in commemoration of the 40th anniversary of Bandai's Gashapon business, "Kinkeshi" will be revived in the year 2017 (Niku). On stage that day were Yu Hamaguchi (Yoiko), a Kinnikuman-loving comedian, and Reika Saiki, an idol who is also an active professional wrestler. Akira Kushida, a singer who sings the theme song of the "Kinnikuman" anime, also appeared on stage and enlivened the audience.

As the curtain rose on the event, Akira Kushida quickly appeared on stage to the familiar intro to the song! He sang the opening theme song "Kinnikuman Go Fight! During a part of the song where the chorus and Mr. Kushida were singing together, Mr. Kushida even turned the microphone to the reporters' seats, causing the tension to skyrocket! (Of course, I raised my voice as well.)

Taking the stage in place of Mr. Kushida were Yu Hamaguchi and Reika Saiki. Mr. Hamaguchi wore a shirt with a Kinnikuman motif, while Ms. Saiki was dressed in a ring costume featuring her favorite character, Robin Mask. According to Saiki, this is a nice costume that "shows off all the muscles you want to show off," and we hope to see them in the ring someday in these costumes.

The talk started with these two. When asked about his memories of "Kinnikuman," Hamaguchi said, "When I was in elementary and junior high school, Kinkeshi was a boom. I used to play tonton-sumo and exchange duplicate Kinkeshi with my friends. Saiki, who was not yet born when the anime aired, later became hooked on "Kinnikuman" and now even incorporates Robin Mask's special move "Tower Bridge" in his actual matches.

At this point, a pleasant surprise was announced: a video message had been received from Takashi Shimada, who is in charge of the original story by the original author duo Yudetamago.

Mr. Shimada shared his memories of "Kin-Keshi," saying that when he was still working on his manga at a boarding house, he saw a huge line of children waiting in line at a nearby Daiei, and when he went to the front of the line, he found a "Kin-Keshi" Gashapon machine there. When he saw it, he was surprised because he had not yet known that Kinnikuman would become a Gashapon item, and he was moved to know that his work was making children so enthusiastic.

It was also announced that the company is offering newly drawn illustrated colored paper to commemorate the revival of KINKESHI. This colored paper is on display at the Bandai booth, so don't miss it if you are visiting the Tokyo Toy Show 2017!

In the second half of the stage, Saiki-san challenged the audience to play a giant gashapon. What came out of the big-sized capsule was "KINKESHI PREMIUM," scheduled for release in late June. He explained that the revived "KINKESHI" had increased in size from 40mm to 44mm, and that it had been sculpted completely new, with the pose of the original product inherited and the balance of the entire body readjusted.

Hamaguchi-san was also given the mission of challenging a giant gacha if he answered a quiz correctly. The question was "What special move does Mr. Saiki actually use in a match? Perhaps reading the situation, Mr. Hamaguchi did not dare to answer "Tower Bridge. The result was, of course, incorrect. So, as a penalty game, he had to actually take the tower bridge from Mr. Saiki. Saiki's smile was the brightest of the day as he mastered the trick with a smile on his face.

The "KINKESHI PREMIUM vol. 3" is currently available for pre-order on Premium Bandai (http://p-bandai.jp/item/item-1000106367/), but will close on June 4, 2017 at 10pm, so if you are interested, be sure to check it out.

In addition to this, the company also announced the sale of "Super Deka Kinkeshi," in which everything is 10 times the size; reservations are being accepted from June 2, 2017, so be sure to check this out as well.

Akira Kushida appeared on stage again at the end of the event. He sang "Kinnikuman on Fire," the opening theme song for the second season of the series. When he sang "Kick! When he sang "Jump!", he jumped up and down with a light touch!

The stage was filled with love for "Kinnikuman" from beginning to end, and the show ended with a great success.
