Junji Inagawa's scary stories become even more scary with holographic images! Performance report of "Kowaii koe - Junji Inagawa's Funeral

Under the leadership of Junji Inagawa, the leading authority on "ghost stories," a summer tradition in Japan, "Kowaii Koe: The Funeral of Junji Inagawa," a fusion of "ghost stories and VR," opened on June 1, 2017 at the world's first permanent 3DCG holographic theater "DMM VR TEATHER" (Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture).



In this performance, visitors play the role of an attendee at Mr. Inagawa's funeral. While mourning Mr. Inagawa with scary stories told by famous voice actors, the audience is drawn into the world of ghost stories guided by Mr. Inagawa, who appears as a hologram.


At a related-party preview held on June 1, prior to the general release, four episodes from Program A, "Cat Meows" (CV: Kenjiro Tsuda), "Hide and Seek ①" (CV: Saki Fujita), "Bride of Hokkaido ①" (CV: Seiichi Morita), and "Foggy Accident Scene" (CV: Toshiyuki Toyonaga) were performed with holographic effects Each speaker was a well-known voice actor.

Each of the speakers was a well-known voice actor, and the content was presented not only on the front and side screens and holographic effects, but also with a 9.1ch surround sound speaker system to create a sense of realism.
After the performance, Mr. Inagawa himself appeared as a guest, saying that it was strange to be able to see his true self not in a mirror (not inverted) and that he had wished he could have such a performance at his own real funeral.

Inagawa's coffin was placed in front of the screen, and participants in the preview took pictures of it as a photo spot after the performance.


In addition to limited-edition goods, such as toilet paper with the story of "Aka Ianten" printed on it, as well as other items related to the performance, such as a pomegranate-flavored drink that is commonly believed to taste like human flesh, are available at the venue.
For regular performances, visitors will receive rice for purification as a special offer, and can also offer flowers to the coffin after the performance.
