2017 Winter Anime "Onihei" Blu-ray & DVD Box to be Released on August 25, 2017 (Friday)! Pre-orders begin today!

The Blu-ray and DVD box of the winter 2017 anime "Onihei" will be released on Friday, August 25, 2017!　Pre-ordering started today.

Based on Shotaro Ikenami's historical novel series "Onihei Hankacho" (Bungeishunju), which has sold 27 million copies in total. Set in Edo (present-day Tokyo), the series has gained popularity for its depiction of Hasegawa Heizo, the "Hitsuke Touzoku Aaratamekata," or "Firebrand Thief Reformer," as he brings the villains to justice. The work has been widely adapted into live-action dramas and manga, but this is the first time it has been made into an anime. Produced by Masao Maruyama of "The Girl Who Leapt Through Time" and "Summer Wars," directed and character designed by Shigeyuki Miya of "BUZZER BEATER" and "Lupin III: GREEN vs RED," produced by TMS Entertainment, and animated by Studio M2.
