First in the animation industry! Piko Taro's Lullaby Lullaby" will be adapted into an animated TV series and visuals unveiled!

Piko Taro, the singer-songwriter who created a worldwide sensation with his song "Pen Pie Nappo Appo Pen" (PPAP), has decided to enter the world of animation with the TV animation "Piko Taro no Lullaby Lullaby" and has unveiled a visual of the work.

Pikotaro's Lullaby Lullaby", which will be made into an animated TV series, is planned, conceived, and composed by Daimao Kosaka, who also serves as the music director, and Pikotaro has challenged himself to create a story without a script, which is unthinkable in the world of animation.

Inspired by a single illustration drawn by director Takashi Taniguchi, who is teaming up with Daimao Kosaka and Pikotaro for this film (representative works: "Ando in the Forest," "Dappy's," etc.), Pikotaro improvises a 3-minute "fairy tale" during recording, an unprecedented technique. The film will be produced in an unprecedented way.

The original story will be told by Pikotaro as a bedtime story before going to sleep. The only voice actor in the cast is Pikotaro. Pikotaro alone plays the main character and all the other characters in the fairy tale. This work is scheduled to be released worldwide. Will the genius who has brought the world into a whirlpool of dancing now bring chaotic sleep to the world? ......　This summer, the film will be broadcast on TV in Japan and distributed through dTV and other channels. （This will be Pikotaro's first attempt at voice acting.)

The visual for the film, which was released in conjunction with this information, was newly drawn by director Takashi Taniguchi.
The illustration is full of impact, with Pikotaro transformed into an animated character, lying down in a field and falling asleep. Inside the nose lanterns floating from Pikotaro's nose, we can see Cinderella, the Match-Selling Girl, and other fairy tale heroes.

I wanted to make an anime about Pikotaro... this is something I have wanted to do since the very beginning of Pikotaro's production... but a normal anime would not be like Pikotaro...," they said about the film, which was created with this in mind. Q. How do you feel about the challenge of making an "Animation of Pikotaro"?
I want to make an animation of Pikotaro... This is something I have thought about since the very beginning of Pikotaro's production ......, but a normal animation does not look like Pikotaro... And even if it is long, so be it.
That's when I got the idea to collaborate with Taniguchi-san, and we came up with the idea of getting Pikotaro lost in the world of old stories!
Again, a revolution! I had no idea that it would be a revolution or something great! I think I was able to create something that was just plain silly.

Q. This is an unusually "unscripted" film. How did you improvise the story?
Pico: Mr. Furusaka says a lot of things out of the blue, so I just go with it.

Q. How do you feel about trying your hand at voice acting for the first time?
I have done voice acting before for a supermarket, but this was my first experience, and I was so nervous that I grew two chest hairs.
