Production of OVA & TV anime 3rd season is decided! Anime "YAMANOSUME" Official Fan Meeting Report

Yamanosume" is an anime series about high school girls climbing mountains that aired from January to March 2013. The first season of the series was a 5-minute short anime with a connected storyline and heartwarming episodes, and was popular for the pilgrimage events to sacred places, especially Hanno City in Saitama Prefecture, where the series was set. The second season, which aired from July to December 2014, was significantly scaled up to two 15-minute episodes and was well received by fans.

The event "Yamanosume Official Fan Meeting in Hanno Civic Hall" was held on Saturday, June 3, 2017, at Hanno Civic Hall. Hiroka Iguchi playing Aoi Yukimura, Kana Asumi playing Hinata Kurakami, and secret guest Yoko Hikasa playing Kaede Saito also joined the event. The event was a great success, with the release of information on the second round of Furusato tax payments, the release of the OVA and event screenings this fall, and the start of the third season of the TV anime in 2018.

The fan meeting was held at the civic hall in Hanno City, the sacred place where "YAMANOSUME" is set, for the first time in about two years, and many fans were in high spirits as they walked from the station to the venue, a 15-25 minute walk (depending on the station used), in mountain climbing style.

The event started with Hiroka Iguchi, who plays Aoi Yukimura, and Kana Asumi, who plays Hinata Kurakami, taking the stage and thanking the fans for coming to the event even after the anime had ended, before moving on to the first talk theme corner.

The first topic was "Who do you think is the cutest? and "What is the best part of the sacred place Hanno? The two answered questions on the screen such as "Who do you think is the cutest? If you were to shout at the mountain, what would you shout? Iguchi answered, "Asumi-san, who got his driver's license a year ago, is not driving," and Asumi answered, "We have known each other for a long time, but I still don't understand Iguchi-san's behavior," each making a joke about the other, which made the audience laugh.

When asked to share some of the cast and staff's spills, they said their memories of episodes from the recording sessions were dim after more than two years had passed since the show aired, but when Iguchi-san told the audience about the competition for the softest body in the studio, Asumi-san revealed that she herself was the worst. Asumi also shared a story about how director Yusuke Yamamoto, who attended the premium screening and talk show held at AEON CINEMA Musashi Murayama in Tokyo on March 12 (Saturday), had somehow deleted his part from a photo they had taken together and uploaded it to his Twitter account.
