Gorgeous collaboration with ZAQ and Uesaka Sumire! Marei Uchida releases new single "+INTERSECT+".

Marei Uchida will soon release her fifth single "+INTERSECT+". This single focuses on collaboration, with ZAQ, with whom Uchida has worked since the TV anime "Chunibyo de Koi ga Shitai! ZAQ, with whom Uchida has had a close relationship since the TV anime "Chunibyo ga Koi wo Mitai! And on the coupling track, his "best friend" Uesaka Sumire joins the group as a guest vocalist. It was a dream collaboration between Uchida Marei, ZAQ, and Uesaka Sumire. In addition, the Blu-ray & DVD of her 2nd LIVE "Smiling Spiral" will be released in August. We interviewed the energetic singer.

I feel most comfortable being myself in front of a large audience.

─ It's been about six months since we last spoke with her when she released her mini-album "Drive-in Theater. In the meantime, you had your 2nd live concert "Smiling Spiral" at Yoyogi National Gymnasium 1st Gymnasium (February 25 and 26, 2017), how was that?

Uchida It was my second one-man live concert, so I wanted to accomplish everything I couldn't accomplish the first time. This time, as a result of that, I think we were able to come together as one, even though the venue was bigger than at the first live.

─ I think you were able to create a greater sense of unity.

Uchida It was thanks to the audience and all the staff. I was able to convey my feelings to the fans through the MC, and I was able to look at the audience while singing, which gave me more leeway. In fact, I had been working on my physical strength all winter for the live performance. Thanks to that, I was able to get through the intense songs, and I felt like a runner's high (laughs). I felt like I was on a runner's high when I sang "Smiling Spiral.

─ So you were able to enjoy yourself to the fullest?

Uchida: Since we had two days this time, it was great that we were able to enhance what we had created on the first day even more on the second day. On the second day, however, I started to feel more realistic and thought, "This fun time will end today. I had to finish it. As a result, the adrenaline was released (laughs).

─ ─ The second day was more powerful.

Uchida: The first day's gentle feeling of "Thank you, everyone, for reaching this point with me," turned into "Let's go, you guys! (laughs). I felt a sense of freedom on both days, and I think I was able to show my true self. I think I was able to say what I really wanted to say and convey my true self during the MC.

─ It is interesting that you can be your true self most when you are in front of a large audience.

Uchida When I think that everyone is there to see me, I can really let my true self out. When people call out to me, "Maaya! I feel really empowered when people call out to me, "Maaya!

─ ─ The video of this live performance is going to be made into a package.

Uchida Yes, it will be released on Blu-ray and DVD on August 23. I haven't seen the video yet, so I am looking forward to it.
