TV anime "THE REFLECTION" unveils its key visual and second cast/character setting! A PR special program will also be broadcast!

The key visual and cast/character information for the TV anime "THE REFLECTION," which will begin airing on NHK General TV on July 22, 2017 (Saturday), has been released.

THE REFLECTION" is a 30-minute animation series based on an original story by Stan Lee, known as a master of the American comic world, and Hiroshi Nagahama, who directed the TV animation "MUSHI-SHI", as a joint project of POW! ENTERTAINMENT and Studio Deen.

This time, new information such as key visuals, casts, and character settings have been released. In addition, on July 1 (Sat) and July 9 (Sun), just before the broadcast, a special program "Fascinating American Comics! ～The new anime "The Reflection"" and "Western Music Club Presents "The Man Who Created the 80's: The World of Trevor Horn" will be broadcast on July 1 (Sat.) and July 9 (Sun.), just prior to the broadcast. In addition, on the next page, you will find character illustrations and comments from the cast members after the recording of the first episode, so be sure to check them out as well.

STORY <Synopsis
A mysterious catastrophe strikes the entire world. This phenomenon, named "Reflection," took a tremendous number of lives, but gave those who survived a special "power.
Three years have passed since then. Three years have passed since then, and at a memorial ceremony held in New York City, that "power" was confronted by mankind in the form of terrorism.
The people of power, steeped in darkness, were confronted by an unidentified masked man named Ex-On, an eye-guy wearing a metallic suit, and a young girl named Eleanor, who threw herself into the battle in pursuit of Ex-On.
Why did Reflection happen? Why did they turn on humanity?
The mystery will now be revealed.

KEY WORDS
Reflection
A phenomenon observed one day across the globe simultaneously.
Green rays of light reflected irregularly across the sky, often reaching the surface of the earth.
The rays of light took a trajectory that prevented the black smoke-like substance that appeared at the same time from reaching the ground, but it appeared as if it was reflecting in the air.
Due to the time difference, the time this phenomenon was observed differed from region to region. In the region where the observation was made at night, it was difficult to see the smoke approaching the ground, and the very reflection of the light in the dark night sky was more impressive and memorable.

■Reflected (ability)
A person who was penetrated by the light or smoke that reached the ground during the reflection and gained a different ability. Most of the people who were pierced died, but those who survived were endowed with a different ability.
Depending on whether they were pierced by light or by smoke, the direction of the ability that they acquired differed.

Light: Many abilities can be activated while in human form, such as instantaneous movement.
Smoke: Many of their abilities, such as animalization and liquefaction, can no longer retain their human form.

Their abilities also vary in the timing of their manifestation, and the existence of reflective (ability) people is not something that the public is aware of. However, there have been sightings of mysterious powers and unexplained creatures, and people are beginning to have a gradual sense of unease and distrust, wondering if there are those with different abilities.
