Whale Children Sing on the Sand" is a manga series written by Abi Umeda and serialized in "Monthly Mystery Bonita" (Akita Shoten). Set in a world where sand covers everything, this fantasy work delicately depicts a group of boys and girls, including Chakuro, a boy recorder who lives on a giant drifting ship called "Mud Whale," which drifts on the sea. The anime adaptation was announced in January 2017.
