The animation film "Kimi no Koe wo Todokeitai" is finally completed! NOW ON AIR, Suzuko Mimori and Director Ito attended the completion announcement screening report.
On Tuesday, July 25, 2017, the completion announcement screening of the anime film "Kimi no Koe wo Todokeitai" was held at TOHO Cinemas Shinjuku.
Kimi no Koe wo Todokeitai" is an original animated feature film from Madhouse, the animation studio that has produced "The Girl Who Leapt Through Time" and "Chihayafuru" as well as many other animated films. It depicts the adolescence of high school girls in Shonan. Directed by Naoyasu Ito, script by Manabu Ishikawa, and character design by Toshinao Aoki, known for designing yuru-characters, etc., the cast includes new voice actor unit "NOW ON AIR" and Suzuko Mimori, who were born from the "Kimikoe Audition" held in the summer of 2016. The release date is August 25, 2017.
The completion announcement screening was a special event that included a screening of the film and a stage greeting prior to the general release. Before the screening, "NOW ON AIR" members Mina Katahira, Yuki Tanaka, Momone Iwabuchi, Misako Iino, Mitsuho Kobe, and Yotomi Suzuki, Suzuko Mimori, and director Naohiro Ito took the stage to discuss their thoughts on the film.
The first topic was "kotodama," the key word of this work.
Mina Katahira, who plays the main character Nagisa Gyogo, holding a stuffed frog that appears in an important scene in the film, commented emphatically, "Ever since I was in elementary school, I told my mother that I wanted to be a voice actress who could sing and dance, so I definitely have kotodama! I have Kotodama for sure!
When asked about the songs, he replied, "Mimori's solo is too wonderful! It's as if she is singing from the heart of the character! Mimori, on the other hand, said, "The NOW ON AIR members have been good singers since the audition, so I was nervous that I had to do my best, too," indicating that the main cast members were engaged in friendly competition with each other.
In keeping with the theme of the film, "High school students create small miracles through the radio station," the main theme of the talk was the miracles experienced by Mr. Kobe, who lives in a rural area, and was about to take the bullet train to appear at today's event, but took a long time to prepare and almost missed the train. He was about to take the Shinkansen to appear at ......, but as luck would have it (?), the Shinkansen was running behind schedule. He reported the latest miracle, saying that due to the delay in the bullet train schedule, he was able to catch the flight one train ahead and arrive in Tokyo earlier than scheduled. Director Ito also commented, "I basically work at my desk, so it is a miracle that I am standing here," as he chewed on the joy of being able to stand on the stage that day.
Iino, the leader of NOW ON AIR, commented on the successful completion and preview of the film, saying, "I think it is because six ordinary students were selected by audition and suddenly became professionals, and six people who had no idea what they were doing came together, and they all supported each other and made it this far. And I am so happy that everyone will be able to see the film for the first time in such a beautiful venue. The audience warmly applauded these words, which were spoken with great emotion.
Suzuko Mimori and Director Ito, who have been watching over the six since the auditions, also commented, "I'm about to cry, NOW ON AIR is the most precious thing in the world right now" (Suzuko Mimori) and "During the auditions, I had a lot of arguments with the other judges and we decided on the six, so I have feelings for each one of them. I have a lot of feelings for each one of them. We made the film so that each of them would have their own highlights." (Director Ito) The six members of NOW ON AIR looked happy to hear this.
The six members of NOW ON AIR also looked happy to hear this. "Please pay attention to the music and background music," said Yotomi Suzuki, "The beautiful scenery of Kamakura and Shonan is so beautifully depicted that it will catch your eyes. The characters' outfits also appear in several patterns, so please pay attention to the vivid pictures" (Iino), "I am sure that you have felt the problems and thoughts of the seven girls before, so I hope you will watch the movie while empathizing with them" (Katahira), In addition to the appeal of the work itself, Mimori confessed that he also broke new ground as an actor, saying, "I myself stepped into a new challenge. The greeting ended with a discussion of the various points of interest in the film.
The animated film "Kimi no Koe wo Todokeitai" will be screened in movie theaters nationwide from August 25, 2017 (Friday).
