A remake of the battle fantasy "Saint Seiya," which captivated boys and girls around the world in the 1980s, has been decided.

The TV anime is based on the manga by Masami Kurumada, serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha). Since the age of myth, the Saints have served the goddess Athena and fought against evil for the sake of justice and peace. Revived in the modern age, they put on their holy garments, which are protectors with the motif of constellations, and throw themselves into fierce battles against the gods. The sight of the boys, including the Pegasus Seiya, fighting with passionate friendship and a heart of justice has captured the hearts of readers of both sexes. The various designs of the holy robe and the many beautiful characters are also highlights of the series. It is a representative work of the 1980s for which new series are still being created.

Toei Animation Inc. has announced that "Saint Seiya" will be completely remade in CG animation and distributed worldwide as a Netflix original series. (*Except for regions where Netflix service has not yet started.)

The Netflix original series "Knights of the Zodiac: Saint Seiya (tentative)" is an animated remake of the hit manga about the growth and adventures of Seiya, a boy who becomes a warrior called Saint to protect the goddess Athena. The story depicts the epic battles of the saints as they fight against gods such as Poseidon and Hades.
The first season will cover "Galactic Wars" through "Silver Saints".
