In commemoration of the 50th anniversary of manga artist Go Nagai's career, the second PV of the new "DEVILMAN crybaby" directed by Masaaki Yuasa has been released.

DEVILMAN crybaby" is a new anime based on the manga "Devilman" by Go Nagai, which was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Magazine" (Kodansha) from 1972, and the original comic has been a big hit with a total of 50 million copies sold worldwide. It is also very popular overseas, with translated editions published in English-speaking countries, Italy, Hong Kong, France, South Korea, and many other countries. The work has been produced in a variety of media, including animated TV series, OVAs, live-action films, video games, novels, and manga derivatives.

This work commemorates the 50th anniversary of Go Nagai's art career, and is a new anime directed by Masaaki Yuasa, known for his unique works such as "Yoru wa tanashi arukete yo otome" and "Yoake ni naru rou no uta. This work is scheduled to be released exclusively on the online distribution platform "Netflix" worldwide.

⇒Anime "Devilman" to be newly produced on Netflix! The "ending of the original work" has been made into a film for the first time by director Masaaki Yuasa!

This was announced yesterday during the "Netflix Anime Slate 2017" and features a digest of part of the most famous scene in the original story, in which the main characters Akira Fudo and Ryo Asuka are attacked by a demon (Demon) and transformed into Devilman (Demon Man) after attending a fateful party. It was a history of power, a world of violence. Weakness meant death. Only the strong survive." "Now, history is coming back to life," the narration says, as flashbacks of scenes of deformed daemons attacking humans and Ryo Asuka firing machine guns wildly at the daemons unfold. The scene also included a flashback of Asuka Ryo firing machine guns wildly at the daemons! Akira! I'm the only one you can trust! I am not a demon! I am Devilman! This is a foreshadowing of the fate of the two characters.

The main cast has also been announced.

The two cast members announced this time are Koki Uchiyama as Akira Fudo, who transforms into Devilman and continues to fight against daemons for the sake of mankind, and Wataru Murase as Ryo Asuka, Akira's best friend who also fights against daemons.

The comments from the two have also been sent, so please check them out as well.

Cast comments】 (*Titles omitted)
Koki Uchiyama (Akira Fudo)
I want to see something that cannot be seen on TV. This is one of the things I usually wish for as an audience member, and I think that such a bad anime is being produced. I am very happy to be able to work with the people I worked with on "Ping Pong" again. I hope that "DEVILMAN crybaby" will be released to the world soon and surprise all the adults in the world.

Ayumi Murase (Asuka Ryo)
It is like a dream come true to be able to participate in a work that represents Japanese manga. The recording has already started, and as an actor, I'm giving it my all to challenge myself with the vivid content and aggressive expressions in each episode. Please look forward to seeing what will happen when the worldview of the original work is revived in the modern age. I myself am looking forward to the day when my voice as Asuka Ryo will reach you.
