The official report of the special stage greeting on August 7 (Flower Day) for the animated film "Mary and the Witch's Flowers" has arrived!

The official report and cast comments from the "Hana no Hi Special Stage Greeting" held on Monday, August 7, 2017 have arrived from the animated film "Mary and the Witch's Flowers" currently in theaters.




Mary and the Witch's Flower" is a new feature-length animated film by Hiromasa Yonebayashi, the director of "The Borrower Arrietty" and "Marnie of Memories" after leaving Studio Ghibli. The film is a fantasy blockbuster depicting the adventures of Mary, who discovers a forbidden flower, "Night Flight," which blooms only once every seven years. Produced by Studio Ponoc.

In honor of the "flower," the title of the film and an important key item in the film, a "Hana no Hi Special Stage Greeting" was held at TOHO Cinemas Umeda in Osaka on August 7 (Hana no Hi), the day of flowers. Here is the official report of the stage greeting, as well as cast and guest comments.

In addition to Hana Sugisaki, who plays the role of the heroine Mary and whose name also contains a single letter "hana" (flower), the stage greeting was attended by Ryunosuke Kamiki, who has called Sugisaki "Master Hana" and has worked with her on many promotions, as well as the cast of the movie "Mary and the Witch's Flowers," who sang the theme song for the movie's final scene. The members of SEKAI NO OWARI, who sang the theme song to the last scene of the film and added "flowers" to the film, also made an appearance! Director Hiromasa Yonebayashi and producer Yoshiaki Nishimura also attended the event!

During the event, each cast member announced what they wanted to do during their summer vacation! Sugisaki answered, "I want to try BBQ with a bunch of people! while Kamiki said, "I want to visit a lavender field! I want Fukase-san to sing RAIN there! On behalf of SEKAI NO OWARI, DJ LOVE said, "I want to play in a pool with a water slide! While Nakajin and DJ LOVE were enjoying poolside conversation after their swim, Fukase was swimming silently without talking to anyone, a stoic episode that had the audience laughing. The audience was in a whirlpool of laughter.

As a surprise, Kamiki presented Sugisaki with a crown of flowers as a token of his appreciation for her efforts in completing the movie promotion! Sugisaki could not hide her shock at the sudden surprise and said, "This is the first time in my life that I have worn a flower crown. I'm really happy. I will treasure it. I'll treasure it. Kamiki also had a big smile on his face at the successful surprise!

During the photo session that followed, each audience member held a "flower" panel, creating a magnificent flower garden in the theater! It was truly a memorable event full of "flowers!

<Synopsis.
