Violet Evergarden" is an anime based on the novel by Kana Akemi (KAESMA Bunko/Kyoto Animation), which won the first grand prize at the "5th Kyoto Animation Grand Prize" hosted by Kyoto Animation. Additional cast information and the OP theme song information have also been released, including Takehito Koyasu as Claudia Hodgins, Violet's guardian; Daisuke Namikawa as Gilbert Bougainvillea, Violet's parental surrogate; Daisuke Endo as the emotional Cattleya Baudelaire, Violet's colleague; and Aya Endo as the young woman who is the protagonist, Violet's mother.
