Made in Abyss" is a manga serialized by Akihito Tsukushi on the web comic site "Comic Gamma" ( # ). It is a popular work that warmly depicts the adventures of Riko, a girl who aspires to become a great "explorer" like her mother, in the "Abyss," a gigantic cavern that has no idea how far it extends, and "Oath," a town built on the edge of the cavern. In December 2016, it was announced that it would be adapted into an animated TV series, which began airing in July 2017. The animation staff includes Masayuki Kojima, director of "Black Bullet," Hideyuki Kurata, series composition by Hideyuki Kurata of "DRIFTERS," and character design by Kazuya Kise of "Ghost in the Shell: ARISE ALTERNATIVE ARCHITECTURE" (general director and character design), Animation production is by Kinema Citrus.
