The official report of the "Reading Music Theater 'ACCA 13th District Inspection Division' -Piece of Mind-" held on August 6 (Sun.), 2017, from the TV anime "ACCA 13th District Inspection Division," which aired from January to March 2017, has arrived.

This anime work is based on the manga series by Ono Natsume, serialized in the monthly magazine Bic Gangan (Square Enix), and is set in a kingdom divided into 13 autonomous regions and the ACCA, a huge unified organization that protects the peace of the kingdom. The film depicts the chicanery of the main character Gene Otus, a.k.a. "Gene the Cigarette Man," and the other men who are all dangerous and unethical. Directed by Shingo Natsume of "Space Dandy" fame, series composition by Tomohiro Suzuki of "One Pan Man" fame, character design by Norifumi Kugai, and animation production by Madhouse.

The official report of the "Reading Music Theater "ACCA 13th District Inspection Division" -Piece of Mind-" held on August 6 (Sun.), 2017, at Nakano ZERO Main Hall in Tokyo, has now arrived.

The Blu-ray and DVD containing the performance will be released on December 22, and reservations are now being accepted.

Reading Music Theater "ACCA 13th District Inspection Division" -Piece of Mind- Official Report

On August 6, "ACCA 13th District Inspection Division" -Piece of Mind- was held at the Naka-no-ZERO Main Hall in Tokyo.

The reading play opened in the snowy forest of Birra. Hiro Shimono, who plays Jean, and Kenjiro Tsuda, who plays Nino, appeared on stage and told a prologue of a scene between Jean and her best friend Nino, who has learned the identity of the watcher. From there, the audience was launched into an anime-like opening, with ONE III NOTES performing "Shadow and Truth" in an overwhelming performance. The opening video played in the background, and everyone was intoxicated by the thrill of being able to enjoy live what they had seen on TV.

The first part of the performance depicted the peaceful interaction between Gene, Nino, and Lotta, which conveyed the relationship between them. Then, through Nino's narration, the audience was told about the coup d'etat surrounding Jean and her relationship with the royal family. Ira Yuki appears and sings "It's my life," a song from the eighth episode of the anime, and from there time goes back to Gene and Nino's school days. The scene was taken back in time to Jean and Nino's school days, and their smiling daily life with young Lotta was depicted in this original episode. This part, which reminded the audience of the sad events in episode 8, was quietly closed with "Pale Moon is Yureteru" by Ayla Yuki, who appeared on stage again.

The scene changed and the five ACCA directors appeared on stage. Junichi Suwabe as Grosshler, Koji Yusa as Leerium, Toru Okawa as Spade, Hikaru Midorikawa as Pastis, and Hiroki Yasumoto as Pine were lined up behind them, and the five of them talked about their interactions, which involved a variety of different agendas. The original part of the story is an episode from the original comic extra "ACCA 13th District Inspection Division P.S.," in which the five commissioners meet for the first time at the airport in Burdon and at the inauguration ceremony. The newly written lines of each of the five revealed their true personalities, making their individual personalities stand out even more.

The "famous scene" between Groszler and Leerium in episode 9 is also beautifully recreated, and as the ACCA coup d'etat plan progresses, the scene moves on to the climax of the ACCA 100th anniversary ceremony.... The scene climaxed with the ACCA 100th anniversary celebration.... From here, Gene joins in, and after a tense exchange with Leerium, the story comes to a conclusion. The last song is "Our Place," the ending song of episode 12, sung by ONE III NOTES. The reading music play, which followed the same flow as the anime but included original scenes throughout, came to a close.

After the applause of the curtain call, the entire cast appeared on stage again to share their thoughts on the performance. They all spoke of the wonderful music played by the band led by Ryo Takahashi during the reading, and of the pressure they felt that "the play cannot be outdone" by the music. Even for the veteran cast members, a performance of this style was a rare occurrence, and they seemed to have experienced a lot of hardship and emotion because of it. Aoi Yuuki, who plays Lotta and is the only female cast member, reported on the "cute uncles" in the dressing room. It was also impressive that everyone, including Ms. Shimono, expressed their love for "ACCA" and regretted that this would be the last time they would have the opportunity to play the characters of "ACCA.

This stage reconstructed the path followed by the main character Gene in the 12 episodes of the anime, and added original episodes. The drama depicting the "stylishness" of men was transformed into a vivid live performance work with passionate performances by the cast and live musicians, creating another world of "ACCA 13th Precinct Inspection Division".
