Wonder Festival 2017 [Summer] "Max Factory Presents 'Girls und Panzer' Talk Show" to look back on the 5 years that Max Factory has been working with "Galpan".

On July 31, 2017, at the "WONDERFUL HOBBY LIFE FOR YOU26" stage in the world's largest garage kit event "Wonder Festival 2017 [Summer]" held at Makuhari Messe, "Max Factory Presents 'Girls und Panzer' Talk Show" was held on the "WONDERFUL HOBBY LIFE FOR YOU26" stage.

This stage was a talk show in which Max Factory looked back on the 5 years it has been working with "Girls und Panzer" and its products.

On stage were Sakura Nakamura, voice actress for the role of Akebi Sasaki in the "Girls und Panzer" anime and a fan of military hobby items; Kiyoshi Sugiyama, producer; MAX Watanabe, representative of Max Factory; and Private Takaku from Max Factory's president's office as the host. They talked freely and openly in front of the Galpan-related products produced by Max Factory.

The first figures to be displayed on the screen were the members of the "Ankou Team" released in the figma series, starting with the main character Miho Nishizumi in May 2014, followed by a series of commercial releases of the "Ankou Team" members, and then in February 2016, a special five-piece set, "Ankou Team Set," was re-released. In February 2016, the item was re-released as the "Ankou Team Set," a five-piece set that is very popular and has been around for a long time.

About this item, Mr. Watanabe said, "(Before the broadcast of "Girls und Panzer"), I was completely unaware of it as a work of art. However, I was struck by it in the first episode. I'll never forget that shock," he said, recalling how he felt when he decided to develop "Galpan" products.

As for the "figma Vehicles Tank No. IV-D Main Battle Specification," a pre-assembled big-size tank model, he said, "I have to make the tanks they ride on! Watanabe-san's "love for Galpan" was on full display as he opened the event with a talk about the development of the "figma Vehicles IV Tank D Type D Main Battle Specification," a big-size assembled model of the tank that has been on sale for some time now.

On the other hand, producer Sugiyama, one of the creators of "Galpan," said, "I thought we could collaborate with various places because we have existing models of tanks (for "Galpan"), but I never expected to have such a large model made from scratch, He reiterated his appreciation for Max Factory's enthusiasm.

The next model to be released, "figma Vehicles Tank No. IV H (Type D Kai)," is the Ankou Team's favorite vehicle, a modified version of the "Tank No. IV D Main Battle Specification. Nakamura-san's casual reference to the "Schulzen" armor added to the sides of the tank was a surprise, but it was also surprising to hear that the mold of the product had actually been modified in the same way as the tank in the movie, which inevitably meant that the "figma Vehicles IV Tank D Type D Main Battle Specification" could not be re-released. This was also a surprise to us.

However, the masculine character of the "figma Vehicles IV Tank D Type D Main Battle Specification" was also revealed, which was a surprise to us! This masculinity is also typical of Max Factory.

He also revealed that the 1/1 scale "Tank IV" displayed at the "Tokyo Game Show 2015" was made by an order from Weta Workshop, a New Zealand prop production company that has also participated in Hollywood movies. The enthusiasm for "Gal-Pan" among the people involved was astonishing.

Incidentally, a new 1/12 scale "Tiger I" is currently under development as part of the "figma Vehicles" line. However, Superior Takaku revealed that they are facing a problem in that the crawler can't fit into the mold due to its huge size. However, I am sure that Max Factory will be able to overcome such a problem!　We look forward to more news.

At this stage, "Darjeeling," the latest in the "PLAMAX minimum factory" series of plastic models that can be completed as in the anime simply by assembling and applying pupil decals, was also announced. The figure has been sculpted in the elegant pose of enjoying a cup of tea, and will be the first figure in the "PLAMAX" series to be posed in a sitting position.

When producer Sugiyama heard that the "PLAMAX minimum factory" would be less expensive to develop than figma, he commented, "Well, then, I want 60 of them to be made (since the total number of characters in the series is approximately 60)," to which Ms. Nakamura replied, "Well, then... I want a school ship for the case! Mr. Nakamura requested, "I want the case to be a school ship! In response to these enthusiastic comments, Watanabe responded with a wry smile, "I'll bring it back (the project)," and the audience was thrilled.

The familiar entrance song "Crash" rang out on stage at this point, and pro-wrestler Masahiro Chono said, "Why are you doing this without me?　I'm the Galpan Supporting Ambassador!" He interrupted the event with a surprise. A prototype of "figma Masahiro Chono" under development was shown.

In addition, producer Sugiyama also announced that the production of the first episode of "Girls und Panzer: The Final Chapter," scheduled to be screened on December 9, was going "unusually" well, much to the delight of the Galpan fans in attendance. We hope that production will continue nonstop until the very end!
