Additional extras for the anime film "The Night is Short and the Walking Maidens" Blu-ray & DVD, which will be released on October 18, 2017 (Wednesday), have been determined.

The Night is Short and the Walking Maidens" is an anime film based on the best-selling novel by Tomihiko Morimi (KADOKAWA Kadokawa Bunko). It is a coming-of-age love story about a "senior" who has feelings for a "black-haired girl" who is a junior in his club, and tries to "catch her eye" as much as possible. The film depicts the love story of the "senpai" who struggles with his love while being involved in unusual incidents caused by his friends with rich personalities in Kyoto. The film is directed by Masaaki Yuasa, written by Makoto Ueda (Europe Kikaku), and the original character design by Yusuke Nakamura.

The Night is Short and the Walking Maidens" will be released in three editions: a special Blu-ray edition, a standard Blu-ray edition, and a standard DVD edition. A collection of pre-release special reports, trailers, and TV spots will be included in all three types of packages. In addition, postcards (set of four) of scenes selected by Gen Hoshino, Kana Hanazawa, Hiroshi Kamiya, and Ryuji Akiyama (Robert), who played the main characters, will be enclosed in both the special and standard editions.

The special edition will also include a large postcard with a new three-sided case illustration by Nobutaka Ito, who was in charge of character design and chief animation director. The illustration is full of playful details that make you feel as if you are watching the school festival from the sky.

In addition, the special edition includes a digest video of the completion screening, a video of the opening ceremony greetings, a collection of official interview videos [Gen Hoshino / Kana Hanazawa / Hiroshi Kamiya / Ryuji Akiyama (Robert) / Director Masaaki Yuasa / Masafumi Goto (ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION)], etc. The video special features alone are in excess of 95 minutes in length.
