Event report on the TV broadcast commemorative event of "Enkotsune no Yokuchan" arrives!　New character settings and advance cuts of the third chapter "Gekkou-hen" are also revealed!

On September 17, 2017 (Sun), a TV broadcast commemorative event for "Enmusubi no Yokubo-chan" was held at Kanda Myojin in Tokyo, Japan.

The TV anime "Enmusubi no Youkuchan" (original title: Kitsune Yoko Benimusume) is an anime work based on a popular comic series on "Tencent Dynamic" operated by Tencent, one of the largest internet companies in Asia. The original work boasts an extremely high level of popularity, with a cumulative total of over 9.1 billion PVs as of September 2017. The anime was distributed in China for about 2 years from June 2015, and has been re-edited to 24 episodes and broadcast in Japan from July 2017.

A talk show featuring Kana Asumi, Hisako Kanemoto, and Marina Inoue, who also appear in the anime, was held to commemorate the Japanese broadcast of the currently airing anime "Enmitsune no Yokuchan". Here is the official report from the event.

On September 17 (Sun.), the middle day of a three-day weekend, a talk event to commemorate the TV broadcast of "Enmusubi no Yokuchan" was held at Kanda Myojin, not far from Akihabara, amid concerns about the impact of typhoon No. 18 on the Tokyo metropolitan area as it was forecast to cross the Japanese archipelago.

Kanda Myojin is a shrine with a 1,300-year history located in Edo/Tokyo. Due to its location, the shrine has a deep tolerance for new culture such as anime, and in recent years it has been known as one of the "holy places" for anime fans, as it has collaborated with various productions.

On the other hand, as you know, "Enmusubi no Youkuchan" ("Youkuchan") is a foreign anime localized for the Japanese market and produced by Tencent, a major Chinese IT company. As a result, the story and setting reflect Chinese culture, making it a work with unprecedented appeal.

This event was planned with the idea that if we could unveil content originating from China at a traditional Japanese shrine, it would serve as a bridge for cultural exchange between Japan and China, just like a fox brings humans and ghosts together. (There is also a god of marriage at Kanda Myojin.)

) We were honored to receive support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the event was named the "Japan-China Cultural Exchange Special Event. This year is the 45th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between Japan and China, so perhaps this is also a coincidence.

Now, without further ado, let's start the talk event with the starring voice actors as guests. The three guests were Kana Asumi, who played the role of Sue Nuriyama, Hisako Kanemoto, who played the role of Lolo Nuriyama, and Marina Inoue, who played the role of Seihito. In the opening self-introductions, all three expressed concern about the inclement weather, but Inoue joked, "I'd like to end the event early so that everyone can go home today," and the mood at once became more relaxed. (Of course, the event went on for a full two hours!)

In the first corner, the audience looked back on the second chapter "Wang Quan Arc," which had just finished airing, and introduced the recording sessions, their own characters, and their favorite scenes.

The recording sessions were different in some details since the series originated in China, and what surprised Asumi the most was that "there are three time codes in the recording video. He said that he did not know which one to use as a standard for timing. Nowadays, the regulars know that the "upper left" is the correct time code, but because it is still there, the guest voice actors and newcomers who joined the show during the recording session were all confused.

In that sense, Mr. Inoue joined the project midway through the "Kingship Arc" this time. According to Ms. Inoue, this time the scene was a little different from what is called "postrecording," and was closer to "telerecording," which is like dubbing for foreign films. Since "Youxu" was released first in China, I was able to listen to the voice actors over there as they recorded the dialogue, in other words, while doing the voice acting in Chinese. Inoue says, "I sometimes feel the same nuances in their acting as in the Japanese anime, and I get the sense that the Chinese people love the Japanese work.

Mr. Kanemoto was also impressed by the "dried watermelon," a Chinese snack that was often brought in by one of the staff members. The presence of sweets that cannot be found in Japan may be said to be a characteristic of the "Youkou" production site.

The conversation then drifted from sweets to his favorite Chinese food, and we got into a lively discussion about his desire to eventually go to China not on a gourmet tour, but on a promotional campaign. It would be nice if it comes true!

In the next section, we moved on to a slightly academic (?) quiz-style discussion, trying to learn about the different cultures of Japan and China through anime. The next section was a quiz-style session to learn about the different cultures of Japan and China. From here, a new guest, Professor Yayoi Kitamura of Kyoritsu Women's University's Faculty of Literature and Arts, and producer Yasushi Karoun of "Enmusubi no Yokuchan" took the stage, and the cast members tried their hand at a total of 10 difficult questions.

Starting with the first question on what kind of arrangement of traditional hawthorn candy is popular in China these days, the questions covered a wide range of subjects from modern times to mythical times, but the most exciting of all was the ninth question, "There are many important anniversaries for lovers in China, but what is the most important day for a man to give a gift to a woman? Which day is the day on which gifts are supposed to be given from a man to a woman? The quiz was as follows.

The answer was "4," and as soon as all of the answers from 1 to 3 were found to be correct, the cast members were all saying, "China is a great country! I want to go to China! and "I want to go to China! Moreover, it seemed that the women did not need to receive gifts in return, and everyone in the room seemed to be in a mild culture shock at the fact that the women kept receiving gifts anyway. (Incidentally, May 20 is the anniversary of the recently established Chinese pronunciation of the Chinese characters for "5, 2, 0," which sound like "I, you, love.)

After the audience had been involved in the excitement of the event, a special edited version of episodes 9 and 10, the climax of the "Wang Quan Arc," will be screened next.
This was a special video produced especially for this event, featuring the episode of the encounter between Wang Fu-gui's previous life = Wang Gong Fu-gui and the spider youkai = Seihi, and it was a truly tear-jerking story.
One of the characteristics of "Yoh Fox" is the wide range between seriousness and gags, and I think it was an exquisite composition that made us think that this kind of thing is also possible. In fact, even during the first half of the talk, the audience was asked several times, "I like Mr. Wang Chuan in the past. I wish it was always in the past." It was a topic of conversation many times, and perhaps we were able to relive the ideal episode, so to speak!
The event was finally coming to an end. After a gift drawing for a poster autographed by the three lead voice actors, the PV of the third chapter, "Gekko-hen," was shown for the first time. The time period has changed again, and we can see new faces of the characters, and each of them talked about the highlights of the future.

The two-hour talk event came to a successful conclusion with closing remarks from Inoue-san, who said, "It was a fun event where we could not only tell everyone what we know, but also learn together what we don't know.
However, as the main story of "Yokyu" continues, we sincerely hope that we will have another opportunity to see you all again at some other place!
