This work is a TV anime adaptation of the original novel "Twelve Taisen" written by Ishin Nishio and illustrated by Hikaru Nakamura. The story is about twelve warriors, each bearing the name of a Chinese zodiac sign, who fight each other for their lives and souls in the "Twelve Wars," which is held once every twelve years and in which any wish can come true if you are the last one left.
At the advance screening, viewers were able to enjoy the first and second episodes ahead of time. The talk show held before the screening featured four warriors, Shun Horie (Nezumi), Yuichiro Umehara (Ushii), Hikaru Midorikawa (Uma), and Yoko Hikasa (Inou no Shishi), and Hiroki Yasumoto, who plays Dudecaple, the referee. They talked a lot about the story and highlights of the characters. The following is a report on the talk show.
The cast members appeared on stage after the announcement by Mr. Shinya Takahashi, the moderator. The cast members were called out by their characters' titles, such as "Ujaujaku, kills," played by Mr. Shun Horie, and "Jutaku, kills," played by Mr. Yuichiro Umehara, who plays the role of Shirai.
After the self-introductions, the story and introductions were introduced. The latest promotional video, which was released today, was also shown. It was the first time for the cast members to see the completed version. This PV included scenes that gave a small glimpse into the past of the heteronomous meat, which was not depicted in the original work.
We then asked each of them about the highlights of the film.
Mr. Horie said, "You can't miss every single scene because they are all foreshadowing," and asked the audience to pay attention to the details. Umehara commented, "The battle scenes are beautiful and powerful. Umehara commented, "The battle scenes are beautiful and powerful." He also said, "There is a lot of foreshadowing, so if you watch until the last episode, you will want to watch the first episode again. Mr. Igarashi said he really liked the character visuals and was interested in the goods sold at the event. Mr. Midorikawa said, "From the time I checked the script, there were a lot of things that I thought, 'Are you kidding? I want everyone to feel it, too," he said, hoping that the audience would enjoy the unpredictable developments. Ms. Hikasa wowed the audience by saying, "I also want you to pay attention to the costumes," referring to the rather eccentrically dressed Yu no Yushiro, a warrior of the rabbit. She said that there are scenes in which the audience will gain insight into the warrior's humanity through his costume. Yasumoto said, "There are a lot of tricks for the viewer. It's very interesting when you realize it," he said, commenting on the foreshadowing. He also said that the work is profound, "I want you to buy the package and watch it over and over again.
The cast members were also asked about their characters.
Nezumi, played by Horie, is an active high school student who always has a languid expression on her face. During postrecording, he was instructed to "be more languid" and even in scenes where he is talking to people, he was told to "not make conversation. He said he was struggling to play the role.
Umehara-san's character of Lost Well was played with an awareness of the characteristics of the way he speaks, while laying the foundation of not getting too upset during the recording sessions. Jyoura, played by Igarashi, is a warrior who uses his claws as a weapon. He is generally drunk and has more comical scenes than the other warriors. He is said to be unique in that he has many cute aspects.
Iyoma, played by Midorikawa, is a taciturn, hulking warrior. He is said to be almost silent, but according to Mr. Midorikawa, he is a moe character with a gap between his voice and the others. He says he was a mysterious character that he could not imagine.
The character played by Ms. Hikasa is the daughter of the heiress of a prominent family, who uses the "Aishu" and "Inochigoi" machine guns as weapons. In the promotional video, we saw a part of her past, and she says that she hopes people will pay attention to her past as well. She is also an elegant young lady, so she is conscious of being elegant and graceful.
Dudecaple, played by Yasumoto-san, is a mysterious character for whom no details have been revealed other than that she is a judge in the Twelve World Wars. Mr. Yasumoto says that he tries not to forget to be objective, and in a sense, he can enjoy the film from the same perspective as the viewers. He said that there are some aspects of the work that are unique to animation, and he hopes that viewers will pay attention to them.
In the second half of the announcement information, it was announced that Panorama Panamatown will be the opening artist. The title is "Rapture" and is used in the promotional video released today.
The final part of the presentation was a message to the audience members who will be watching the screening of the first and second episodes, respectively.
The cast members left the stage with smiles on their faces, and the screening began shortly after. Based on the highlights that the cast members had just mentioned, the audience was able to enjoy the show. Those who were unable to come to the screening should look forward to the on-air broadcast on Tuesday, October 3, 2017.
