The following comments were made by three members of "=LOVE" (=LOVE), Maika Sasaki, Hitomi Takamatsu, and Shoko Takiwaki, who appear in the film, after their first post-recording as voice actors in their lives. Here are their comments after their first post-recording as voice actors.

Cast Comments

--What are your impressions after reading the script?

Sasaki: I had only heard of the name "Haikara-san ga Tsurugaru," but when I actually read the script, I thought it was a very moving work with Benio and many other cool characters. Toward the end, Benio's feelings gradually grew, and there were many moments when I felt happy, sad, or the same feelings as Benio, which made the work enjoyable!

Takamatsu: I had only seen Heisei era anime before, and this was the first time for me to read a work set in the Taisho era, but when I actually saw the costumes and buildings on film, they were completely different from what we see today, and it was very refreshing!

Takiwaki: I had never heard of "Haikarasan Passage" before, but my parents knew of it, so I think it is a work that can be seen by many people of all ages. It is set in the Taisho period, and I thought it was a fun piece to learn about the Taisho language, rather than the modern language.

--Please let us know if you have a favorite character in "Haikara-san ga Tsuru".

Sasaki: My favorite character is Benio! Benio is a very energetic, lively, and very cute girl, and I was really looking forward to seeing Saori Hayami play her! I have often thought that Ms. Hayami plays relatively quiet characters in her works, but her voice fits Benio perfectly and expresses Benio's lively image of "Hai Karasan"! I admire girls who are honest, pure and active like Benio.

Takamatsu: My favorite character is Ranmaru! Your voice fits Ranmaru's character and worldview so well, and he was the character I was most interested in while watching the video. I recommend it!

Takiwaki: I am also Benio! She has a very cute face, but there is a scene in the movie where she gets drunk and starts dancing, and I was attracted by the gap between her cute face and this aspect of her!

--How did you feel after the first postrecording of your life?

Sasaki: I was very nervous because it was the first time for me to actually act in a scene. There was a part where Shoko (Takiwaki-san) and I had to coordinate our timing, and it was very difficult and nerve-wracking, but it was fun! I also took part in a voice recording session, and although I didn't know what to do, I learned a lot and hope to be able to work in this way again!

Takamatsu: When I was taking lessons at Daiani, I thought I was able to do what I wanted to do, but when I went on set, I couldn't do what the director asked me to do well, and I got swallowed up by the atmosphere on set. I would like to use this experience as a springboard to try to bring out my strengths more in the future!

Takiwaki: In the scene where I had to act alone, I was taught how the character was feeling, but even though I knew how the character was feeling, I couldn't communicate it well, so I hope I can practice more and more and get another chance.

--Please give us your support for the movie "Hai Kara-san ga Tsuruku".
