Maaya Sakamoto takes charge of the OP theme of "Card Captor Sakura" for the first time in 20 years!　Composed by Yoshiki Mizuno of Kimono Gakari

Maaya Sakamoto will sing the opening theme song for the TV anime "Card Captor Sakura: Clear Card Arc," which will air from January 2018.

Card Captor Sakura" is a popular manga serialized in "Nakayoshi" (Kodansha) from 1996 to 2000 by CLAMP, a hit maker of "Magic Knight Rayearth" and "XXXHOLiC". The popularity of the manga accelerated when it was made into an animated TV series on NHK (Japan Broadcasting Corporation) in 1998, and it became a huge boom that transcended gender and generation. In 2016, the 20th anniversary of the serialization, a new chapter, "Clear Card Arc," began serialization in "Nakayoshi" magazine, and a TV anime will be broadcast from January 2018.

The song is titled "CLEAR," with lyrics by Sakamoto and music by Yoshiki Mizuno of Kimono Gakari. Mr. Sakamoto also sang the opening theme song "Platinum" (released as a single in October 1999) for the previous TV anime series, and this will be his first theme song for the "Card Captor Sakura" series in about 20 years.
