Original story, screenplay, and director: Makoto Shinkai
Kimi no na wa. is a film assembled with the local imagination and domestic technology of those of us who live in Japan. By crossing such a film with Hollywood, perhaps we will be able to see new possibilities.

Producer Genki Kawamura
We have become a dream team, and we could not have asked for a better team to work with. I couldn't believe it when I heard that JJ Abrams wanted to make a live-action version of "Your Name" in Hollywood. I thought, "This is a dream, it has to be a dream," until I met and talked with him at Bad Robot, but it seems to be a reality. J.J. Abrams has taken a number of classic films and reincarnated them with a modern flair. I am sure that "What's Your Name? as a live-action film in Hollywood, we can think of no better creators than JJ Abrams and his team. Eric Heisserer's screenplay, "The Message," is one of the most moving science fiction films I've seen in years, and I think Eric would have been a great choice for "Your Name," which combines science fiction with a love story and builds to a climax. I am confident that Eric will produce a live-action Hollywood version of "Your Name" with JJ and Eric. We are proud to be working with JJ and Eric to produce the live-action Hollywood version of "Kimi no na wa.

Yoshinari Shimatani, President, Toho Co.
We are proud to be producing the Hollywood version of "Kimi no na wa. I look forward to the opportunity to work with some of Hollywood's finest creators to produce a live-action version of "Kimi no na wa.
