Adults fascinated by robots gather in Nakano!　Super Robot Manga Festival" to Discuss Robot Anime in a Maniacal Way!

Mazinger Z" is a manga serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha) by Go Nagai in 1972. It depicts the activities of the giant robot Mazinger Z, which boasts a variety of armaments and overwhelming strength, and its pilot Kouji Kabuto, and can be called the originator of the combined/riding giant robot anime. The TV animation broadcast in the 1970s recorded the highest viewer rating of 30.4%. To commemorate the 45th anniversary of the TV anime broadcast of this work, an anime movie "Mazinger Z the Movie (tentative title)" will be released on January 13, 2018 (Saturday).

The "Super Robot Manga Festival" will consist of two parts, with the first part featuring a super maniac talk session with the staff and cast of "Mazinger Z," the origin of the Super Robot anime, and a guest appearance by Minori Matsushima, who played Sayaka Yumi in the original "Mazinger Z," and a former AKB member wearing a Sayaka Yumi costume. The second part of the event will be a talk session with the staff and cast of the anime "Mazinger Z".

The second part will be a special corner on "Robot Girls Z," a project that anthropomorphizes super robots, which was described by the original author, Go Nagai, as "like having a grandchild. The new petite character animation "Resurrection of the Underground Empire! Robot Girls Z vs. the Three Leading Robots! will be shown for the first time, and there will be talks by three guests: Mariko Honda, who plays Z-chan, the main character in "Robot Girls Z," Koka Takaoka, who plays her rival Gai-chan, and Yukiko Morishita, who plays Galada K7.
