Official report of the advance screening of episodes 0 and 1 for crowdfunding supporters only

Dies irae", which has been successfully adapted to anime by raising 96.56 million yen, the highest amount in Japan at that time, through crowdfunding in 2015, held an advance screening of episodes 0 and 1 on September 30 at Hitotsubashi Hall for the supporters of crowdfunding (CF) before the broadcast on October 6. The event was attended by Ayumi, the host of the event, Mr. Hattori, the representative of Greenwood Corporation, Yui Sakakibara, who plays Mari, and Takashi Shoda, the writer of the original story and in charge of the anime's series composition.

After the screening of episodes 0 and 1, a list of names of CF investors was shown, and Mr. Hattori expressed his gratitude. The MC then called for Mr. Sakakibara and Ms. Shoda to take the stage to loud applause.

When we asked Mr. Sakakibara, who had watched episodes 0 and 1, what he thought, he replied, "It really wasn't a dream (laughs). I was very impressed with the pictures and the sound and the shape. The title of the work was right on the reservation recording, so it's true! It wasn't a dream (laugh)." He talked about how he couldn't believe it until the animation was completed and how thrilled he was to see the animation take shape. Mr. Shoda also shared a behind-the-scenes story about the sound director, who also had a full comp of the dies before working on the project.

The scene of the crowd singing the guillotine song in the first episode was a highlight," said Sakakibara. Sakakibara said. In that scene, Masada-san and Sakakibara-san also sang as a part of the crowd. In the future, there will also be a guillotine song in which all the members of the crowd are voice-over actors.

Sakakibara-san commented, "The characters are so strong that I really loved it when the famous lines from the game were put on the moving pictures. Mr. Shoda also commented, "I tried to pick up as much of the dialogue from the original as possible," which is great for fans of the original. This is a great comment for the fans of the original work.

The talk session came to an end in a flash, and Mr. Masada concluded with a message to the CF supporters who attended the event.

Mr. Shoda
Thanks to all of you, we have come this far. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Mr. Sakakibara

I was also surprised to see the full version of the opening theme "Kadenz (Cadenza)" playing at the event. I am looking forward to the ending and the TV broadcast as well, all thanks to everyone's cooperation. While watching the film in the back during the screening, I was talking with the cast about how it could not have taken shape without everyone's love. I hope that you will watch over the cast and crew as they try their best to respond to that love.
I believe that this is just the beginning, so I would like to ask for your continued support. Thank you very much."

Mr. Hattori

There are many things I can't talk about, such as the circumstances behind the CF of "Dies irae" 10 years after its release, but even though I can't talk about them, your support helped us to decide to do the CF, and at first we didn't think we would be able to collect this much, but we have been able to achieve so far. I think this is something that has probably never happened before in the field of animation and games. We are truly grateful to have been chosen for such a work.
I will continue to take responsibility to create something that can reward everyone, so please continue to support us. Thank you very much."
