BLAME!" is an anime work based on the manga serialized from 1997 to 2003 in "Afternoon" (Kodansha) by Tsutomu Nibe of "Knight of Sidonia" fame. Set in a future where humans are exterminated and eliminated as "illegal residents," the story follows Kirii, a searcher for the "net terminal gene," in a giant "hierarchical city" that continues to multiply without limit. Directed by Hiroyuki Seshimo of "Knights of Sidonia" and "Ajin" fame, and animated by Polygon Pictures of "Knights of Sidonia" fame. Nibei, the author of the original story, is also providing full cooperation and supervision.
