Autumn Anime "Mahoutsukai no Yome," MV of the ED theme "Kan -cycle-" sung by Hana Itoki is released! Comments from Kimiko Komine of zabadak, who wrote the lyrics.
The music video of the ED theme "Ring -cycle-" sung by Hana Itoki from the TV anime "Mahoutsukai no Yome" currently airing on TV has been released.
The "Mahoutsukai no Yome" is a manga serialized in "Monthly Comic Garden" (Mag Garden) by Yamazaki Kore. Set in modern-day England, the fantasy work follows Chise Hatori, a girl who can see things that are not human, and Elias, a non-human wizard who bought her for 5 million pounds.
In March 2016, the company announced the production of an original anime "WITCH WIFE: HOSHIWAITING HITO," a prequel to the manga. It consists of three parts: a prequel, a middle part, and a second part, and is being sold as a bundle with volumes 6, 7, and 8 of the original comic book. In addition, the first part and the second part were screened for a limited two-week event in August 2016 and February 2017, respectively, and were well received.
Then, in March 2017, it was announced that a TV anime adaptation would be made and broadcast over a two-cour period starting in October. The film adaptation will be directed by Norihiro Naganuma, director of "Yowamushi Pedal the Movie," and written by Aya Takaha, with character design by Kanpoku Kato.

The music video (short ver.) of the ED theme "Ring -cycle-" sung by Hana Itoki has been released! The music video is composed entirely of footage from the full-length "Mahoutsukai no Yome" and allows the viewer to fully enjoy the world of the work along with the music.
Hana Itoqi, who makes her major debut with this work, is a new generation hybrid artist who handles everything related to music by herself with her vocal performance that absorbs English and French songs, and expresses her unique world through various methods such as illustrations, videos, and prints.
For the ED theme "Cycle," Kimiko Komine selected a suitable song for this work from unreleased songs by the late Tomohiko Kira of zabadak, and wrote the poem. The music was arranged by Yoko Ueno, a musician and music producer. The song is somewhat sad, but gently embraces the main character, and is a song that fully captures the world view of "Mahoutsukai no Yome".
The lyrics are written by Kimiko Komine of zabadak, who also wrote the lyrics for the song, and the music video is also available here.
Kimiko Komine's comment
I read the original story in one sitting when I was asked to write a zabadak song for the ED theme of the anime "Mahoutsukai no Yome". I read the original story in one sitting, and based on the theme of the story and the image of Hana Itoqi's voice, I chose this song out of the vast number of unreleased songs by Tomohiko Kira. As soon as I started writing the poem, the word "ring" came to mind. I hope that this work, which has been created with the concept of going around, returning, nostalgia, and new encounters, will overlap with the thoughts of everyone who listens to it and become an even bigger circle of life.
