Interviews with Mamoru Miyano (Theater version) and Hikaru Yuzuka (Musical Romance) and Ensign W have arrived from "Haikara-san ga Tsuru!

Mamoru Miyano, who plays the role of Shinobu Iju in the animated film "Hai Kara-san ga Tsuruku the Movie Part 1: Benio, Hana no 17", and Hikaru Yuzuka, who plays the role of Shinobu Ijuin in the Takarazuka Revue / Musical Roman "Hai Kara-san ga Tsuruku". The official interview with the double Ensign has just arrived.

The manga, which was serialized by Kazuki Yamato in "Shukan Shoujo Friend" (Kodansha) from 1975 to 1977, depicts the turbulent adolescence of the main character, Benio Hanamura, set in the Taisho era (1912-1926). The story is popular among a wide range of generations and has been adapted into a live-action film (released in 1987, starring Yoko Minamino and Hiroshi Abe) and TV dramas in 1979, 1985, and 2002.

This time, Mamoru Miyano, who plays Shinobu Iju in the theatrical version of "Hai Kara Sanruku Part 1: Benio, Hana no 17-Year-Old," which will be released nationwide on November 11 (Sat), and Takarazuka Revue Flower Troupe will perform at Umeda Arts Theater Theater Theater Drama City from October 7 (Sat) to October 15 (Sun) and at Nippon Seinenkan Hall from October 24 (Tue) to October 30 (Mon). Yuzuka Hikaru, who plays the role of Ijuin Shinobu in the musical "Hakkarasan Passing" to be performed by the Takarazuka Revue Flower Group, gives an official interview with Ensign Double, discussing the charms of "Hakkarasan" from his unique point of view!　Despite meeting each other for the first time, the two men hit it off perfectly, and the interview is presented below, in which they discuss the charms of "Haikara-san Comes Through" to the fullest.

Yuzuka: What do you think of the original story of "Hai Kara-san Comes Through"?

Yuzuka: I had heard of the title, but I didn't actually read the original until after I was asked to do so. When I read it, I found it very interesting, and once I started reading it, I read it in one sitting, and even after I finished reading it, I immediately went back to it (laughs).

─ ─ Yuzuka, when playing the role of Ensign, what do you think makes the character of Ensign so appealing?

Yuzuka: He is the kind of man or prince that every girl wishes she could meet. Even if I am a bit of a spoiled brat, he laughs at me and accepts me, saying that it can't be helped at all.

Ms. Miyano: It makes me want to use the word "perfect," which I don't use often (laughs). She is perfect, isn't she?

───Mr. Miyano, how did you feel after actually finishing the recording of the first part?

Mr. Miyano: The Ensign's perfection is part of the charm of the work, and I enjoyed playing the role of the Ensign as a realistic person who is not "perfect" in a sense, and who is also a human being, even though he seems perfect to others. I enjoyed playing the role because I thought I was trying to unravel the reality of the Ensign as a human being, even though he seems perfect to everyone around him. I am truly honored to be in charge of this project, and I am very proud to be an actor.

─ What do you think is the charm of Benio that only the two of you who play Ensign can talk about?

Mr. Miyano: I like Benio! (Laughs).

Yuzuka: She is so honest and straightforward, full of energy (laughs). The Ensign's family is a noble and very venerable family. She lives within such constraints, and as she said in her dialogue, I think the most attractive thing about Benio is that he "brings a new wind" to the world.

Mr. Miyano: Ensign is a person who lives tied down by many things. That's why I was dazzled by Benio's free pursuit of the path he believes in. I think it is a wonderful relationship where they are attracted to each other in what they don't have, and there is no question that it is inevitable that they are attracted to each other. Even the parts they don't like at first, there must be some initial culture shock when you grow up in such a completely different environment (laughs). Because we are two people who see the essence of people, we were attracted to each other. I think it is a wonderful form.

──Yuzuka and Miyano have impressive smiles on their faces, and the character of Ensign also has a "good laugh" and a wonderful smile. After meeting each other, can you tell us if there are any aspects of each other that you think are like Ensign?

Yuzuka: " Laughing at the top of your lungs" is perfect for Miyano-san! (Laughs).

Ms. Miyano: Yuzuka-san also has a big smile on her face!　Yuzuka-san: Yuzuka-san also has a good laugh! She laughed with all her might without hiding it, so even though we had never met before, I thought we were talking naturally the whole time (laughs).

Yuzuka: Same here (laughs). I wasn't really aware that I was a good listener, but now that you put it that way, it's true that I've been laughing since a while ago (laughs).

Yuzuka: You will be performing in both the Takarazuka Revue and the animated feature film version, what are you both looking forward to?

Yuzuka: I think it's going to be different from the original work, and I'm sure it will convey the best of "Hai Karasan" as it can be portrayed now, while also being filled with new charms. I am very much looking forward to it. I am also looking forward to talking with you today because you are a really wonderful person.

Mr. Miyano: The movie version is really good. I thought it was really well thought out, respecting the goodness of the original work, while making sure that people who watch it now will feel comfortable with the world of this era, as well as the balance of how people can learn new things from it, such as how to live their lives. As for Takarazuka Revue, I have just had a look at the visuals, and I am very much looking forward to the show, as each of the performers has a unique personality!　What impressed me was the amazing level of visual reproduction, as if the original characters had jumped out of a comic book!　There is an Ensign in military uniform, Benio in hakama, and the editor-in-chief in a sparkling suit. I think it is because we were so fascinated by the original work that there are things that are expressed on stage as well.

─ ─ What do you think is the essential charm portrayed in the long-loved work "Hai Karasan Tsurugi"?

Yuzuka: I think the individuality of the characters is the most attractive thing. Each character has his or her own core and way of thinking. They have a clear idea of how they want to live their lives. I want to live like this! In today's society, there is a tendency to "follow the right path," and I feel that the brilliance of each and every character is truly fascinating. So I am sure that readers will have their own characters that they will be attracted to. I think the charm of "Haikara-san ga Tsurugu" lies in the fact that each and every one of the characters shines.

Ms. Miyano: I think the appeal of "Haikara-san-dori" is the way the characters live in turbulent times and the energy that "brings a new wind" to the world, but as Ms. Yuzuka mentioned, even today there is a tendency to "follow the right path," and I think this work teaches us that "it is okay to be yourself" and "find your own way of life. I feel that this work teaches us that we are fine with who we are and that we should find our own way of life. That is why it will never fade away. I was reminded of this again when I spoke with Yuzuka-san. And beyond that, there is a pure love romance, which makes me very jealous (laughs)! (laugh). (laughs) But it is precisely because of the underlying feelings that people are attracted to this work, and I think it gives them the courage to live.

Yuzuka: There is no one who is just living life as it is. Everyone is working very hard.

Miyano: They are all searching for their own path in life. I was impressed by the way Mr. Yamato portrays the characters. I am sure you will find your favorite character in the movie, and I am sure you will feel various emotions such as "This person is like me" or "I want to be like this person.
