A new key visual, the third PV, and information on the main staff and cast have been released from "Violet Evergarden," an anime produced by Kyoto Animation that has been announced for broadcast in January 2018 and worldwide distribution in spring 2018.

Violet Evergarden" is an anime work based on the novel by Kana Akemi (KAESMA Bunko/Kyoto Animation), which won the first grand prize at the "5th Kyoto Animation Grand Prize" hosted by Kyoto Animation. The director is Taichi Ishidate, who directed "Beyond the Boundary -I'LL BE HERE-", the series composition is by Reiko Yoshida, who wrote the screenplay for the movie "聲の形", etc., and the character design is by Akiko Takase, who was in charge of the illustrations in the library of this work. ■Anime "Violet Evergarden" Advance Screening Event Report

On October 21 (Sat.) and 22 (Sun.), 2017, the 3rd KyoAni & Do Fan Appreciation Event "We are now! -It's the first festival in two years-", "Hibike! Kyoto to the World" was held at the Rohm Theater Kyoto.

The anime "Violet Evergarden" has had its world premiere in the U.S. and Germany. While fans in Japan are eagerly awaiting the broadcast of the anime starting next January, many fans came to the event on October 21 (Saturday), despite the rain, as the preliminary screening and talk show was held in Kyoto, where Kyoto Animation is located.

Director Taichi Ishidate and Yui Ishikawa, who plays Violet Evergarden, took the stage before the screening. The screening of the first episode was the first in Japan and the second was the first in the world.

The audience who watched the two episodes in succession were drawn into the world of "Violet Evergarden," and when the screening ended, the audience applauded loudly.

Director Ishidate and Ishikawa took the stage again to start the talk show. Director Ishidate expressed his feelings frankly by saying, "I am overwhelmed with emotion" after seeing the audience's reaction. Ishikawa also talked about the character she plays, Violet Evergarden, and shared episodes from the audition and postrecording sessions.

Next, TRUE, the artist in charge of the opening theme song for "Violet Evergarden," appeared as a special guest and was greeted with loud applause. TRUE sang the opening theme song "Sincerely" as part of the advance screening and special live performance, and the audience was in awe of her voice. He added, "If there is an opening, there is also an ending at ....... Today, we have an artist in charge of the ending theme song," said TRUE, and a surprise guest appeared on stage. Minori Chihara, who sings the ending theme song, appeared and was greeted with loud applause. Chihara, who plays the role of Erika, who works in the same office as Violet in the film, carefully sang the ending theme song "Michishirube.

After the special live performance, Director Ishidate joined the audience to talk about the production of the opening and ending theme songs, and also revealed a special image of the CD jacket for the upcoming release.

Director Ishidate concluded his talk with the following words: "In creating this work, I was particular about being serious, simple, and not playing around. The anime "Violet Evergarden" is scheduled to begin airing in January 2018 on ABC Asahi Broadcasting, TOKYO MX1, TV Aichi, HTB Hokkaido TV, and BS11.It will also be distributed worldwide on Netflix.
