Official Report] (*Honorific titles omitted)
On October 22 (Sun.), "Luna HARUNA LIVE 2017 "LUNARIUM"," a solo live performance by anime song artist Luna HARUNA, who is popular for her many hit anime theme songs, was held at EX THEATER ROPPONGI in Roppongi. The audience was intoxicated by her first solo performance in a while.
Luna HARUNA LIVE 2017 "LUNARIUM"" was a solo live performance following the release of her first original album "LUNARIUM" in 2 years and 3 months, which was released in June this year. Despite the unfavorable weather conditions with a typhoon approaching, the "Lunarium" (Luna Haruna fans) gathered around the venue as early as noon and were filled with enthusiasm.
When the lights went down a little after the scheduled time, the seats were filled with green penlights, Haruna's theme color. The opening song was of course "Prologue ~LUNARIUM~". The first song was "Stella Breese" (OP theme of TV anime "Saerenai Kanojo no Nuturekata ♭"), which she sang refreshingly as one would expect. After a brief greeting, they continued with "MONSTER" in the same order as the album. The audience joined in a "salute dance" to "Ripple Effect" (the ED theme of the TV anime "High School Fleet"), during which four dancers appeared one after another, The songs from the album were performed live.
Here, there was a short pause to introduce the members. This time, twin drums were used! Dr. Masaru Yamauchi "masshoi", Dr. Takeshi Hoshino, Bs: okamu, Key: Kosuke Kuwabara, Gt: Sorao Mori, Gt: Saku. 6 male members, 4 female dancers, total 11 members including Haruna on stage. When all the members were on stage, the dancers were ready to perform. Once all the members were on stage, it was time for a dance lecture. They practiced the choreography of the chorus of the album version of "Purple Love," which was originally created as a collaboration with Rika Mayama of Shiritsu Ebisu Chugaku, while involving the dancers and the audience in a cute but unfamiliar manner. The band continued with "Fly Me to the Moon," a cute 80s-style elepop song arranged by Shinnosuke (ex. SOUL'd OUT).
Then the live moved on to the ballad "Fly Me to the Moon" and the middle block of the song, which featured a gorgeous string arrangement. She sang two different ballads, "REASON," a big ballad with a gorgeous string arrangement, and "Icotoba," a simple ballad with an 8-beat acoustic guitar arrangement, a coupling song from her previous single "Stella Breathe," and then performed her signature song, "Startear," an acoustic guitar arrangement of the same name. He continued with "Startear" (the ED theme song for the TV anime "Sword Art Online II"), which is one of his best-known songs, showing his real singing ability, and the audience was so silent and attentive that they forgot to applaud. The theme song of the album "LUNARIUM," "Beautiful Sentiment," a middle rock song with an epic world view, was followed by a surprise: the audience united to turn their psyllium lights into rainbow colors. Haruna was also captivated by the song in response to the unexpected performance by the fans.
At this point, Haruna left the stage and the band began to play instrumentals. After enjoying the solos of the musicians for a while, Haruna appeared on stage in a new costume made for her new single "KIRAMEKI☆Lifeline" to be released on November 8 to the tune of "Minna tada kimi ga suki" (the ending theme song for TBS TV's "Rank Kingdom") from her 2nd album. Haruna sang while parading around the audience in a "retro-futuristic" green and white plaid two-piece outfit that exposed her waist.
In the next MC corner, they talked about the new costumes. The next MC talked about the new costumes and responded to requests from the audience such as, "Turn around! Haruna talked about the anime "URAHARA," in which she is challenging voice acting for the first time, and finally performed her new single "KIRAMEKI☆Lifeline" for the first time at the live.
The song, which is currently airing as the ending of the anime, was performed with a jazzy horn section, rock guitars, digital sequences, and complex beats, all intertwined in a superb technical performance.
From here, the live quickly moved into the second half of the block with the odd digi-pop songs "Sayonara Moratorium" and "Love Expires in 3 Years, How Long Will Love Last? and "Kyoso Refrain," a song popular at their one-man live performances, were performed in a highly immersive and perverse eroticism, complete with lights and laser effects.
After the call of "Let's go to the last three songs! (the OP theme song of the TV anime "Saerenai Kanojo no Nurturekata") and "Aiwoutae" (the ED theme song of the TV anime "Monogatari" series second season), and the overwhelming momentum of the main event continued. The audience was overwhelmed by their performance.
For encore, she appeared in a casual T-shirt and white frilly skirt and sang "Clumsydays," which she hadn't performed in a while. The event was followed by a towel-rolling song, "Koi no koi no kyorei" ("I'm in love with you"). The dancers came out from the audience and encouraged the audience with the towel spinning song "Koi no Senshi (Warrior of Love)," and the last part of the song was "I am so happy to be able to convey my feelings to everyone through my music like this. Let's all keep going together to see all kinds of scenery!" After expressing their gratitude to the audience, they closed the show with their hit single "Overfly" (the ED theme of the TV anime "SWORD ART ONLINE" Fairy Dance Arc).
With the new single "KIRAMEKI☆Lifeline" (ED theme of TV anime "URAHARA") to be released on November 8, this was a fulfilling one-man live performance that brought tears to the eyes of fans as they felt a solid response from the band.
The band's many upcoming live performances and event appearances are also worth checking out.
