The third installment of the "Netojin no Susume" interview project: Yuuka Aisaka's new song is a collaboration with Sekai Kan Ozaki (Creep Hype), whom she respected!
Voice actress and artist Yuuka Aisaka has released her third single "Hikari, Hikari", the ending theme for the TV anime "Neto Mitsume no Susume", a light rock number with lyrics and music by Saikan Ozaki (Creep Hype). Aisaka has long been a fan of Creep Hype and had hoped to work with Mr. Ozaki someday. When he was informed of this collaboration, he said he cried uncontrollably.
He also played the role of Lilac in "Netto no Susume" very well. We asked him to talk a lot about his new single and his impression of the anime!
I can't die until I work with Mr. Ozaki! That's what I thought (laughs).
─ I'm sure many fans have already heard the new song "Hikari, Hikari" through the broadcast of "Netojin no Susume" and the release of the music video on YouTube. For you, too, doesn't it feel like you are finally releasing a CD?
Aisaka Yes, it does. It has a different taste from my previous singles, so I was worried at first whether fans would accept it or not. However, I received a positive response when I released a short version of the music video, so I felt confident that I could deliver the song to my fans. The song was written by an admirer of mine, Mr. Sekkan Ozaki, so I will sing it with great care so that I can convey each and every lyric.
───Reading the comments on YouTube, I can see that the song has attracted a lot of attention from Ozaki's fans.
Aisaka: I was really happy. I was nervous about how Mr. Ozaki's fans would perceive the song. I was happy and relieved to hear your warm words this time. There was a comment that they would like to hear the version sung by Mr. Ozaki, and I feel the same way (laughs).
(laughs) ─ Wasn't the demo version sung by Mr. Ozaki?
Aisaka Yes. But it was only one chorus. I feel that if I heard the full chorus with Mr. Ozaki's vocals, it would change the way this song sounds to me.
─ ─ You have always been a big fan of Ozaki's, haven't you?
Aisaka Yes, I am. I worship Creep Hype. For a long time, I told the director, "I would like to work with Mr. Ozaki. I can't die until I fulfill that!" (laughs).
─ ─ That's how much you wanted to do it (laughs). So your dream came true this time.
Aisaka: I was in tears, thinking how happy I was to be in charge of the ending theme for "Netojin no Susume" and to have Mr. Ozaki write the music for it.
─ What did you feel when you heard the demo?
Aisaka The original song "Hikari, Hikari" was a peaceful song. Later, Mr. Ozaki played it while discussing it with the band members, and arranged it into a high-speed rock song. I thought, "This is it! I thought, "This is it!" The ending theme of the anime also has a fresher feel to it.
